Title: "Blossoms in the Dark"

Zainab is counting the few naira notes she had, and her hands were visibly shaking. Everything on her store shelves all felt far away, as if to give her a constant reminder of how much she had lost.

Outside, the sun was still shining outside. Amira, her daughter ran to her holding an Hibiscus flower, laughing barefoot in the dirt. "For you my Mama," she smiled. Even with tears clouding her eyes, Zainab grinned.

Love endured despite the hardships of life, and like Habiscus, love was sufficient to inspire hope even in this darkest of circumstances.

Under President Tinubu's watch, Nigeria faced ongoing security challenges. Banditry, terrorism, and kidnappings continued to threaten daily life. However, Tinubu's administration took bold steps, deploying advanced technology and strengthening military presence in critical regions. Collaboration with neighboring countries led to some successes against insurgents, while the government also focused on community policing and intelligence gathering. Despite these efforts, the struggle remained intense, with critics calling for more urgent reforms. Citizens lived in cautious hope, watching closely as the government worked to balance security with human rights and freedom, praying for lasting peace in the troubled nation.

As the sun set over the football field, Emily gazed into Alex's warm eyes. They'd grown up together, but it wasn't until senior year that she saw him in a new light. Alex, the star quarterback, had always been charming, but now his smile made her heart skip a beat. During the homecoming game, he caught her eye and winked. After the game, he walked her home, hand in hand. Under the twinkling lights, he confessed his feelings. Emily's heart soared as she smiled, knowing she felt the same. Their first kiss was like a dream come true.

Title : The Breadloser

You bought Akara, you bought bread. It was 10pm. You were late from work. Where u went to play.

You kept walking the long and often lonely distance, that night. When you got to your new abode, it dawned on you that you didn't buy water.
Well, you just threw the bread and akara away.
No water. You neednt buy anything... anyway.

You have no neighbors, its a new cemetery in the middle of nowhere.
If I'm not making a mistake here, works of literature are usually educational while also entertaining. You wrote quite well, but I think you have transferred the practice of incomplete spellings while sending SMS to your short story.

Creative.

Title : The Forgotten Key of Lagos

In the bustling city of Lagos, young Tunde discovered an old rusted key while playing near the lagoon. Intrigued, he kept it in his pocket. That night, Tunde dreamt of a hidden door deep in a forgotten corner of the city, near an old colonial house. The next day, he ventured out, following his instincts. After hours of searching, he found the door. With a nervous breath, he turned the key, uncovering a forgotten piece of Nigeria's history.

Title of my story is the Lion and the yam.

An hungry Lion once roamed about the mighty jungle looking for what to eat. He roamed and roamed and roamed and roamed for 3 days about the mighty jungle. Rain fell on him, he was tired so he decided to rest. When the rain stopped, he continued to roam about the mighty jungle. Still, he couldn't find food. The roaming continued unabated.
Finally, he found some tubers of yam. Then because of intense hunger, he said to himself 'maybe I should eat this yam'. But on a second thought, he mumbled ' but I am a Lion, I can't eat yam'. So he continued to roam. Then finally, the Lion died of hunger.

That's the end of my story. Thanks. wink

Lost in the Moment

A soft breeze carried the scent of jasmine as they strolled along the beach. The sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and purple. Hand in hand, they watched the waves crash against the shore, their laughter echoing in the serene atmosphere.

Lost in the moment, they drew closer, their eyes locking. A spark ignited between them, a connection that transcended words. Their lips met, a gentle touch that sent shivers down their spines. Time seemed to stand still as they surrendered to the intensity of their emotions.

As they pulled away, their hearts raced. A wave of confusion washed over them. Was this just a fleeting moment or the beginning of something more? They gazed into each other's eyes, their unspoken questions hanging heavy in the air.

Rescue From Above

Looking down from the top of the hill, I realized I was not alone, the feeling, the urge and the swelling up of my head which my mother once told me portrayed bad omen.

I never doubted my instinct, never will I do that now. I remembered the last time I went against it, It all resulted in accident.
Then, a quick grasp of my neck by that man, my uncle who has been holding on to my father's properties.
I'm choking! Choooking!! Choooooking to death......

A FATAL ATTRACTION

Fred, my life is over. I'm still alive, but everything has fallen apart. How do I explain this? Who will believe my story?" I exclaimed.

"What's going on?" Fred asked, concern etched on his face. "You're not making sense. What happened?"

I took a deep breath and began to recount the events that had led me to this point. "You know how my wife has been acting lately? She's become so dramatic and disrespectful. We haven't been intimate in seven months. I felt like I was dying inside."

Fred nodded sympathetically. "I remember you telling me about that. What does that have to do with what's happening now?"

I hesitated, feeling a mix of shame and guilt. "I met an old friend a few days ago, and we started spending time together. It felt like I'd found the love of my life. We'd meet up every evening, and...and things just escalated. Tonight, we were together, and she...she passed out."

Fred's expression turned serious. "What do you mean she passed out? Is she okay?"

I shook my head, feeling a lump form in my throat. "I don't know. I'm still at her apartment. I'm so scared, Fred. I don't know what to do."

Fred's voice was firm but calm. "First, call emergency services. Now. If she's unresponsive, you need to get her help immediately. Then, we'll figure out what to do next."

I nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. Maybe, just maybe, I could find a way to make things right. But deep down, I knew that nothing would ever be the same again. She is dead.

It was a bright morning for worship. As happy as he was, he needed his morning coffee to keep him alert.
As he grudgingly rolled in bed, he remembered his coffee maker travelled. It seems it will be a worship day only and no coffee.
He remembered the experience since he got married. A daily dose of fun mixed with laughter everywhere.
Why did coffee have to be far away today of all days? He rose up eventually with the hope that his coffee maker would be back today.

Why the rich suddenly go broke

There was once a man named "Obi". He was a rich guy, but tragedy struck when he started assisting people who had potential but refused to work. His Chi was not happy with that, so he began to go broke. Obi wondered why he suddenly went broke from being a rich guy to a poor guy.

He woke up in the middle of the night and asked what could have happened to him. He realized that if everyone was like the poor people who have the energy and capabilities to work but chose to beg, the world would not be a better place. When he noticed someone approaching him for aid, he changed his demeanor and began to look away. His Chi was pleased with his new ideas and he began to rise again.

Once you approach Obi for help, he will tell you to go and work or rather, direct you to where you can find one.

Sometimes you need to check yourself to see if you are making your Chi angry so as not to remain stagnant in life. Obi learned his lessons and has been productive ever since he came about that idea. Not only that, but he changed the perception of some beggars that they have to work otherwise, no good for them. ( That doesn't mean he ignored the ones who needed it the most)

Note: It says 100 words short, but I had to make it long to pass a message to some people. You need to educate some of the people who beg on the road or stay by a shop to tax people for money. (The ones with complete bodies who you think can work)

How do you communicate with your chi?

I don't mean like religious God oh

I mean my personal chi....

As the sun set over the ocean, a lone seagull soared overhead. A young girl, Maria, walked along the beach, searching for treasures. She stumbled upon a weathered bottle, pulled out the cork, and discovered a rolled-up paper inside. Unfurling it, she found a message scrawled in faded ink: "For the curious and brave, follow the coastline to the old lighthouse. Come at sunset. Come alone." Maria's heart raced as she wondered what secrets awaited her. With the message clutched in her hand, she set off towards the lighthouse, the seagull flying overhead, as if leading the way.

dream in a dream

Woke up with a startle. It was still dark outside. The night was black, figures creeping outside the field of vision.

Felt presence of not being alone. Broke out with cold sweat. A figure stood just outside my field of sight, recognisable but not identifiable.

It spoke in a whisper. KKkeeennrrooooo!!
I almost didn't understand what it meant. Head still foggy, mouth dry, lips shaking, teeth grinding.

It dawned on me, it just called my name.
Then it happened quick, almost like a flash of lightning. It moved towards me...

NNEKA THE EYE OF A GHOST

It seemed more likely she was drawn by a force she herself could not tell. The scene was dreary, cold ad damp like wet blood on tiles.
She took the steps forward like one dragged to the hang man's noose.
She couldn't resist it though she fought. The scene was the Same like it had always been in her nightmarish dreams.

A wooden stool on its side by the left, up above a broken window glass and it's shards refracting what she felt was foggy and lazy, light rays.

The bamboo bed turned on its side so it faced the wall, a baby play thing carved and fresh - it was a head of a monkey with human figure laid on at the corner of the room.

Who did this room belong to, what had happened here, why was she so afraid, Nneka wondered as her heart pounded violently against her ribs, and her breath tightened in her lungs.

This couldn't be a dream, she knew this much. This scene was from the story read to her by her grandmother, the very day she had disappeared. This scene, was her kidnapper 's den. This was where she had been killed.

Last Night of College:

It was you, right? The other night at Jemma's.

"Excuse you!", Fred exclaimed as he turned to see who it was.

My name is Eva, and by the way; who let you in again after you ruined my night the other day. You spilled a drink on my twenty four karat Louis Vuitton hand made dress. I was gonna fight you but you were too soaked and wasted to lift a fist.

"Oh, my bad! It's such a shame that you had to deal with the mud while I was the one that called the rain." Fred said kindly as he extended his hand for a handshake with Eva.

The sound from the Sony speakers surrounded the hallway as the dj played everyone's favourite songs. From every corner; friends and folks chatted like the early birds. Like the morning sun, everyone's dress radiat so colourful. Like the spinning wheels, they danced. Like the deer, they drank from the never ending pool of whines.

"Hey! Hand me the champagne!" Jonah beckoned on the waiter.

"Broski! You made it here another night alive!" Jonah teased Fred on sighting him from a distance.

"Jonah's such a fool", Fred mutterd with a smile as he continued talking with Eva.

In a shadowed town, three women known as the Sirens of Sin roamed freely. Jennyclay, with eyes like fire, whispered deceit into the ears of men, leading them to their ruin. Jennyfer, draped in silk, charmed her way into hearts only to shatter them without mercy. The youngest, Jennylillie, danced under the moonlight, luring with promises of forbidden desires. Together, they spun webs of betrayal and chaos, reveling in the destruction they caused. The town whispered of their evil, yet no one dared stop them—until one night, they vanished, leaving only broken souls in their wake.

The Climber
You hop from bed to bed, from Evelyn to Everista...looking for greener pastures. Whatever happened to hardwork? You demand and hold so dearly to patriarchy, but subjugate every manly role to your latest victim. Your subjugated victim joyfully, but painfully plays this role because she is blinded by foolish love. Working multiple jobs from 6a.m to 6p.m. She returns home battered and worn out. Our "Lord" has made a mess of the house and is waiting for his conquest to feed his stomach and his loins.

The slavery continues until our Lord finds a better prospect and hops to her abode. Is this a win-win for both parties? The slave has been freed from her shackles and the Lord has moved to a bigger fish unbeknownst to him that his end is nigh.

The Old Watch

As I rummaged through Grandpa's attic, I stumbled upon an old watch. Dusty and worn, it ticked away, its rhythmic heartbeat echoing through the silence.

I wound it tighter, and suddenly, memories flooded my mind. Grandpa's stories of war, love, and loss. I saw him as a young man, full of hope and dreams. The watch's ticking grew louder, and I felt his presence around me. I closed my eyes, and the memories became mine.

When I opened them, the watch had stopped ticking. But its secrets remained, forever etched in my heart.
