In Nigeria tribalism is the key to make gullibile followers to forget ur past sins, is the key to get quick mammoth followers.
We've recently seen Governors who can't pay minimum wage neither do any work that reflect their allocations being hailed as heroes for just consistently making ethno-religious outburst.
Many Senators and Reps are seen as heroes for being tribalist not for bringing bls that will change the fortune of their people to good.
If u think all those public outcries, media noises done by Politicians are because of ordinary citizens then u need to conduct a research about the attitude of politicians outside public domain. They don't damn care abt religion or tribe, all they know is just how to win ur heart with speeches not action to maintain their seats of power.
It's by default that average Nigerian is bigot, tribalist, and psychologically sick for Judging others based on ethno-religious scale rather than competence!

The world is a global village. Civilised men are talking of men of noble character from anywhere to take the lead that's why in America and other western world Africans who have distinguished themselves in character and knowledge are serving as senators,ministers ,judges etc.

We condemn racism but embrace tribalism, I don't understand maybe I need to research more.

Go and live in some countries in Europe and even in the so called america, then you will know that tribalism exist.

again, there are rules and regulations against racist practices in the west...you cant openly deny employment to a person based on their skin colors.... yes many do undercover, but certainly not openly....unless in countries with racist regime (Israel etc)

btw remember, Chinese hate Japanese before they hate blacks....and the reason dark people are looked down upon is due to social issues primarily (darker people are viewed as uneducated lower class people), thats why Chinese use umbrella during summer months in order to not get a darker tan from the sun.... why would you think they wear the below, if not because they look down tanned people?

Unless significant percentage of Blacks in Oyinbo countries start achieving ,both academically and Business wise and dont cry racism at slightest of opportunity .Racism will persist .
A majority of Original Blacks in oyinbo countries are on welfare checks or working in very blue colour jobs ,why because of collapse of family structure .
Black children are growing up with no father like figures in households ,producing kids who they cant cater to .
Kids will go and join gangs .
Its advent of Educated blacks from Africa that is changing perception of Africans among whites, asians and latinos. But more needs to be done.

There used to be massive racism againts yellow color people (east asians) they overcome by excelling in Academics and there old countries are developing massively .Ditto Indians ,even though their parent country is coming from shithole tag. They performed academically well and well noted in medical field as well as in technological field.

If you think Racism is only against Minorities. White on white racism is very much and it is hidden by media.An educated white living in Northeast or western USA has deep seated hatred against whites from Deep south calling them, trailer trash AND HATE their politics and their lifestyle .Since a significant population of whites are doing good .there are able to present a united face to the world as all whites are achievers .

African males and females in Oyinbo counties should be responsible . Let your child achieve full potential by having proper parenting .

You're confusing tribalism with nationalism!

When you force many strong-minded, ethnically-conscious and proud nations into one country, what you get is tribalism. Conversely, when they freely form a country of their own, or are compatriots with like-minded nations....sharing similar values and aspirations, what you get is nationalism!

What you call tribalism in Africa is called nationalism in Europe..

The only difference is that after the world wars, America helped the tribes of Europe to reach different agreements that led to the formation of different nations based on shared values and culture...
So the Italians have Italy, The Germans have Germany, The Spanish have Spain, The Danes have Denmark etc.
As a result, when they project their firebrand type of nationalism on the global stage from their different countries, we hail them as patriotic citizens of their countries...

But when say an Igbo man does same, he's called a tribalist! Yet igbos have over 50 million people while the Danes are less than 10 million! There's nothing wrong with defending your country's values and positions on issues. It becomes a problem when many nations are flagrantly mangled together, thereby creating violent frictions as different brands of nationalistic feelings erupt from the different units..
