I do think it is not a bad idea at all, as much as church work is more of a responsibility than a job, it is still a job in some sense, i just think, perhaps some sort of financial support would be beneficial especially in large churches.

Their rewards is supposed to be in heaven but, some churches pays their workers saying if they are not paid, they won't be serious with the work. For example, Prophet Shepard Bishiri pays workers in his church

In saner climes, churches pay their workers. Go and do your research, what most churches here do is to only to use people and ask for money.... If you go to the US, church workers are paid, unless stated expressly as volunteers even those volunteering are still compensated with something, but here na another story entirely, they just want to brainwash people and get value from people with no other value to give back other than promises and prayers.....Scam.

I mean if a worker has financial challenges of paying school fees, house rents, feeding, clothing...the church should be the first place of abode and help for such worker. It's a big shame to see a known and talented instrumentalist having challenges in paying school fees or buying handouts in a Federal institution.
These guys spend lots of their time in church doing church activities.

No wonder you will easily see groups of church choir and instrumentalists come together to form bear-pallor band around(which they are good at).

It depends on the church and the rules guiding it. Besides there is what is called "Service units". These units are made up of volunteers who give their time and energy in service to God. Many of them know and understand that they won't be paid salary but nevertheless they could be encouraged in the church and are often encouraged in several churches by the members and management unit.

There are full time workers who depend on the salary in church to take care of their responsibility. Those are the ones paid financially.
