*EBONYI WOMEN AFFAIRS COMMISSIONER RECEIVES ASSOCIATION OF THE DEAF, CLEMENT ABONYI FOUNDATION*



*The Hon Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development Chief Mrs Deborah Chinwe Okah has received in audience members of the Ebonyi State Association of the Deaf and Representatives of the Clement Abonyi Foundation who paid her a courtesy visit in her office.*



The Commissioner who was highly elated by the philanthropic gesture of the foundation, appreciated the founder for his interest in sponsoring the education of young Miss Ezinne, and therefore gave the assurance that the ministry would supervise everything concerning the education in order to ensure that the purpose is actualized. She equally used the opportunity to call all well meaning individuals in our society to emulate this kind of gesture in order to better the lots of Disabled and under privileged people in our society. She emphasized that government shouldn't carry all the burden, knowing fully well that we have well to do men and women in our society.


*Earlier the Chairman of the Association, Comrade Ajibo Idenyi who led the team, thanked the Commissioner for the warm welcome given to them, and said that they were in the Ministry to inform the Commissioner of the intention of the foundation (CAF), to sponsor the education of 22 year old Miss Ezinne Nworogbo from Iboko in Izzi LGA, who is deaf and dumb.*


While speaking, the Country Representative of the Clement Abonyi Foundation, Mrs Agatha Ugwu, stated that the founder of the foundation, who is deaf and a resident in the USA, has helped a lot of deaf and dumb person's by supporting them in education.


*She said that when Ezinne's case came up, he picked interest and decided to take up the responsibility for her education and he wants to send her to the School of Deaf and Dump in Ibadan, Oyo State, but decided to follow due process, hence the visit to the Ministry so that government would be involved for proper documentation.*
