Chelsea is allegedly planning to start talks with Dujon Sterling about extending his current contract. According to Goal, the Blues want to reward Sterling for his hard work and perseverance following his extended injury layoff with a lucrative contract. Due to a nasty sickness and a hamstring condition, the 21-year-old was forced to miss 13 months of action. He returned to Chelsea training lately and is currently attending Thomas Tuchel's pre-season camp. Tuchel has reportedly been impressed by the young defender's performances and attitude. Sterling seemed to want to stay at Chelsea, the club he joined as a child. His contract expires in June, and Championship clubs are already circling for his signature. Chelsea believes they must reciprocate because of his determination to stay at Stamford Bridge. Unfortunately for the Blues, not all of their academy graduates are loyal to the club. Marc Guehi recently joined Crystal Palace, while Lewis Bate is on the verge of joining Leeds, and Tino Livramento and Myles Peart-Harris are also on the verge of signing off. Chelsea's hierarchy has been caught off guard by such a quick exodus of young players, which they wish to avoid at all costs. The first step is to restrain Sterling; now they must hope that others would follow suit.
