Jigawa Golden Stars have featured Richard Christopher (Jersey number in their Nigeria Professional Football League match-day 34 home win over Rivers United two days after the League Management Company (LMC) suspended the player, BSNSports com.ng reports.



The LMC had on Monday July 19 sent a letter signed by Stanley Ike on behalf of the Chief Operating Officer to Jigawa Golden Stars notifying them that the said player has been suspended following accumulation of five yellow cards in Match days 8, 10, 16, 17 and 33 of the 2020/21 NPFL games.



The LMC statement added that the player is ineligible to feature in the game against Rivers United but the player was pictured to have played a major role in Jigawa Golden Stars 2-1 win on Wednesday.

Jigawa Golden Stars with win moved above the relegation waters with a point to drop Sunshine Stars in the red zone (17th position).

Jigawa Golden Stars have 39 points, the same with Wikki Tourists while Sunshine Stars have 38 points.

Consequence is that Rivers united should be awarded 3 points and therefore be moved to 2nd position on the table

SECTION C:
Disciplinary Provisions


On Yellow and Red Cards states in point 2, 3 and 5 states as follows



2. A player who receives five (5) yellow cards at different matches during the
season be suspended for the next immediate match after the fifth caution, and a
subsequent accumulation of additional five (5) yellow cards in the same season
attracts a two-match suspension, while a further accumulation of five (5) yellow
cards in the same season attracts suspension for the rest of the season.


3. A player who receives a red card, being accumulation of two (2) yellow cards
during a match shall be suspended for the next match, whereas a straight red
card attracts a suspension for the next three matches, while an accumulation of
five (5) red cards within a season attracts suspension for the rest of the season.



5. If it is established that, a team intentionally featured a player who had earlier
received five (5) yellow cards or red card before the match in question, the
affected team will lose 3 points 3 goals to its opponent.

Therefore based on the rules the LMC should do the needful.
Not because Jigawa Golden stars are desperate to escape relegation the should break the rules
