How The Police falsely Paraded 20 Innocent Men As ESN Members In Imo - Video by attackgat: 10:44pm On Aug 04, 2021
News broke on Monday about how over 20 ESN members were arrested in Orlu, Imo state. The men were paraded alongside guns, Biafran flags and hard drugs in the picture below. The commissioner of Police, Abutu Yaro, claimed that a 15 year old ESN member led the Police to a Hotel in Orlu being used by ESN, and the men were arrested there.

But is this story true? Are these 20 men really armed ESN members?

Certain things bothered me about this story, I asked myself 3 questions. Why would armed ESN be using a Hotel as their base of operations when the bushes of Orlu offer far better protection? If ESN were going to use a Hotel, why in Orlu which is the centre of unrest in Imo state? Also, how did the security forces arrest 20 armed ESN members without exchange of fire?

Ever since, different people have been using social media to lament that some of the men were innocent people being falsely accused.

As it turns out, all the men that were arrested are all innocent. Online media platform, Njenje Media, went to the Hotel in Okporo, Orlu, to ascertain what really happened. Their finding is shocking. In the video below, they found out that a combined team of Police and Army swooped on Raymond Hotel Okporo, Orlu, arrested innocent passersbys, Hotel guest and staff, and burnt the Hotel and its Nightclub. Not done with this, the security forces also burnt a lorry that came to deliver drinks to the Hotel, all the shops on the street including motorcycles parked there. They didnt even spare a coffin seller there, they burnt his shop along with coffins on Okporo road.

The security forces then took all the men they had arrested to Imo state Police command where they were all stripped to their briefs, made to stand in front of guns and Biafran flags, then branded "ESN Members"

Nigerians must stand against this culture of the Nigerian security forces framing innocent people to make it look like they are working. It might not be you today, but it could be you tomorrow.
