TBVH I think they are. If you were the one employing won't you pick those Certificates over nothing? Those Certificates shows zeal to acquire more skill and knowledge. Even when it's free how many people sign up for it and completes it?

i tell you, you will see them ruling with force, considering cow over human beings, lack of certificate causes it.

If you have it and can show how you have applied it or are able to apply it, then of course it is.

The relevance of any certificate is a function of how well you can defend it. So whether it's online, free or not, if you're able to defend it, you will get value otherwise it becomes worthless from the perspective of the potential employer.

You can go for online training but focus more on the skills you are meant to acquire rather than the certificate. That way you will be able to defend the certificate.

I see Op stock in the middle of acquiring certificate just to please employers of labour instead of focusing on acquiring skills to improve his own career and life.

I think it depends on the organisation you're getting it from. Fluke Corporation, Schneider Electric or Siemens aren't bad though. But instead of stating Online Certificate, you can state completed trainings.

I know most of the courses on Grow With Google are paid courses offered on Coursera except the Android developer course.

Online certificate only adds up to your CV but is irrelevant in the job you might be applying for. I know a friend who did her BSc in University of Ibadan and had an online certificate in PGd from London. She applied for a job in an international organisation in Abuja. She was taken in as a volunteer staff in the workplace. It was later on she knew that the online certificate on her CV was just for add ups. They told her emphatically that if she had gone to the UK for the program, she would have been staffed. They don't value on-line certificates despite she did the online course for 8 months and she spent over a million naira doing the same online program.
