Ijaw or Izon people don't know what they really want in Nigeria.
Once an Ijaw man wakes up in the morning, Serve him with Cocoyam and dried fish pepper soup with a bottle of Ogogoro mixed with schnapps and play him the music of B2s Tare oge master he will immediately forget about the struggle to liberate himself from Fulani backed govt oppression and injustice.

How can a people with crude oil in their backyard be given a paltry 3% as against 70% for northerners just for having pipeline pass through their region?
When discussing important issues u need to present concrete assertion not the usual emotional hatred and excessive jealousy. Before accusing others for ur state's mayhem and bad governance u need to check the effort of ur Governors. This is what lead us to where we are today; instead of demanding good governance at all level of Govt, our Governors learnt that the struggle is purely ethno-religious bigotry not serious movement. How can indigene of Benue, Bayelsa, Delta, Ekiti, Enugu, Katsina, Taraba, or Zamfara have the gut to insult PMB when he has the worst grassroots monumental failure as his Governor?
Niger Delta has Ministry, they receive 13% derivation and receive highest allocation with nothing to show but u are here shamelessly accusing Fulani for the problem that doesn't exist. Before advertising ur ignorance and poor comprehension problem, u need to check and understand the content of PIB bill which u even wrongly quoted.
You will never grow with this kind of ethno-religious bigotry and excessive jealousy!

See letter wey I dey try composes to give my chief and others to endorse. No be every ijaw person go dey shout our oyel everytime without making concrete efforts.

The Superintendent,
Shell Petroleum Development Company,
Rumuo Bakani
Port Har-court.

Dear Sir/ Ma:

REQUEST FOR AN URGENT MEETING

We the youths of Obunagha Community in Gbarain Clan under the able leadership of Comrade ..., are writing you in order to have an urgent meeting with you to discuss some pressing issues which we have found very important.

As youths of the community and as your host, we have noted with great disappointment the near total lack of commitment by Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) in your shared Corporate Social Responsibility towards the people – and specifically to the youths in the land. And that lack of care and welfare on your part has become worrisome to us despite the huge benefits your oil and gas explorations derive from our land. We have the data which show the great volume of oil and gas deposit in our soil and the current exploration rate, and also aware of the huge revenues being generated from it by SPDC as an International Oil Company (IOC) and the Nigerian State. It is on that note we seek for a round table discussion.

While the youths of the autonomous community have maintained uttermost peace that have enabled the smooth and continuous exploration of oil and gas on our land with great consequences to the people and the environment without any hostilities from us as it is common with some oil producing communities in the Niger Delta Area; sadly, SPDC has failed in its duties in providing us our deserved welfare benefits.

We will like to emphasis that as youths of the land, we hold major stake in the polity for the smooth running of Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) facilities at the Gbaran Ubie Integrate Project site and that our coexistence as host community and your company must be established on mutual agreements and benefits. And as such, we ask that you live up to your own responsibility in order to foist the peace you enjoy.

Some of Our Demands Before You at the Meeting are:

* We want the correction of the ongoing gas-flare which is presently against every recommended standards, which is producing untold consequences on the people and the ecosystem.

* We demand for a special Monetary Fund to be made available on yearly bases for the youths from which special interventions can be carried out by the youth government body to uplift the socioeconomic status of the youth populace through empowerment programs in sports, agric., and entrepreneurship.

* We demand an improved employment quota for the teaming youths who are greatly underemployed at your company and other contracted subsidiary companies. We demand that you apply the Nigeria Local Content laws in your employment scheme.

* We want the review of your work-force at the Gbaran Ubie Integrated Project site that has more strangers employed in place of the community indigenes. And also reengage disengaged community workers.

*We demand for an urgent and transparent Environmental Impact Analysis (EIA) to unravel the level of impact your activities have affected the people and our environment. And to proffer solutions to that effect.

* Training of community youths in various skills and trades, especially on skills key to the oil and gas industry.

* Acceptance of community students seeking placement for Industrial Training (IT) in SPDC. And that they be paid stipends.

* We demand scholarships for deserving indigenes. And also that a special program be formed to send an agreed number of persons for abroad degree learning through scholarships.

* We demand for transparent General Momerandum of Understanding (GMOu) and/ or Freedom To Operate (FTO) undertakings. We equally demand an inclusion of the youth as active participants and beneficiaries of any existing and subsequent GMOu/ FTOs agreement whereby our quota as stakeholders is duly described.

* We demand for two 18seater fully air-conditioned buses for the youths.

* We demand through collaborations the concrete piling of the community's coastal lines that have been ravaged by erosion.

In light of the above demands that we have made ***

So because of they get 13% derivative means that their ecosystem should be left polluted by oil spills.
Whose primary responsibility is to ensure that the oil producing areas be cleaned up?
I can see how shallow your reasoning is, You just rushed to comment without reading and assimilating.

Did u mention oil spill? IOCs and govt are responsible for that but why mentioning a tribe in this matter when it is obvious our problems are within us?

Answer the question, What do you have in the east??

Don't ever attempt to compare anywhere in east with Rivers State
Port Harcourt is the only place that matters in Rivers state.
East is far bigger than that your exploited Rivers.
The Rivers person is a case of confused identity,an umuola(precious children) who became rumuola(meaningless)
One day they are from Igbo, another day they are from Benin.

The best your lots can do is pipeline security as per militants.

uniform nonsense, you will still salute your fulani superiors in whatever security agency you are.
You are still doing pipeline security in disguise.
I had opportunity of uniform stuff but jettisoned it for my engineering career.
Too much of nonsense orientation in the security agency won't allow you rational reasoning due to too oppression (mental and physical) by your superiors.
