For me o,in this scenario the Husband was quite wrong, especially if they live in Lagos and her Job entails her going out frequently.
Just the bad roads, waiting under Sun to get a Bus, rushing to enter one,swears from the Conductor can cause miscarriage fear's.
So if you have the means for Uber or to get her a Car,why not?
If it is to give the Car to an Uber man to drive and say "drive my Wife when she needs to go out", why not?
In this scenario,her outburst is quite understandable.
Some recent men are growing less caring abeg, just looking for women to manage their Homes and carry their Babies.
But a divorce was pretty overboard,very overboard but she is hurt.

I get irritated by women who present such absurd attitude. You'll be a mother in-law tomorrow and you want to destroy the bond your husband has with his mum.
Even if your mother in-law is a witch, don't you dare come in between her and her son.
Some women ehhh, really need brain reset surgery.

A wife can be replaced, but a mother can't be replaced.let her go very fast,they are ladies out there waiting for that opportunity.

I don't see anything wrong with what the man did. I understand the wife's angry but that doesn't warrant her to seek for a divorce! Haba!!! All I pray is that God blesses my husband and I that we can provide all our needs. So that I don't have to be a bone of contention in my son's marriage, standing between him and his wife. Blame modern feminism and the pervasive snowflake attitude common with the modern woman — She has successfully shown that there's nothing particularly special about being a woman because treating any woman special simply because she's a woman, is sexism (in reverse)...

Equal treatment is a very good thing until you realize that it should also strip you of your "special" status.
No one should be more special than the other in an equal-opportunity equal-outcome society... doesn't matter if you were born with a natural ability to carry a pregnancy.

Regarding the topic itself, the only problem I perceive at play is the usual solipsistic nature of women. The wife considers herself more special to a man than his mother (and she acts on it) – Most of the time, the mother feels the same way too (and will also act on it).

Either way, it has absolutely nothing to do with the man because if he decides to buy a car for his mother (who is a woman) and fails to buy one for his wife (who's also woman), can he really be accused of being an ungrateful patriarchal man with no respect/appreciation for women?

But if the man did it without telling her, it's because he knows he's not totally right and he didn't want his wife to object.

My husband told me how his father protected his mum from his family and put her first. His dad bought things in her name. So when we got married, my husband told his mum that she should not expect him to be any different. That he learnt from his dad. So he does the same.

You can't enjoy that kind of privilege from your husband and expect your son to do the same to you and neglect his wife. Marriage is not just a physical thing, it's the unifying of two souls.

I don't pray to be a mum that depends on her son, thereby causing trouble between my son and his wife. My mother never did it. I pray never do it too.

He's as wise as Solomon in the Bible.

A man is not one with his mum but with his wife. If he prioritizes his mum's needs over his wife's, he should as well divorce his wife and be joined to his mum.

Boys on this forum are already reacting and blaming the woman because they don't understand marriage. I can't be trekking with pregnancy and probably a kid or two and he buys a car for his mum instead. We will call a family meeting for it. If he doesn't have sense, let elders teach him sense.

But still a woman like the wife nonetheless... na the same rope tie all of them las las because if there was a good relationship between the two ab initio, only then could common sense have come into play.

When I mean depend on my son, I mean for survival, for my daily bread. Of course as we grow older, we need help.
