[s] dingbang:[/s] Are you also going to put salt in his bank account stopping him buying another gen? Anyway, salt in fuel tank is a fallacy as far as genset is concerned. |

Funny thing about this whole matter is that the generator is not in the OPs compound o, and you're advising him to pour salt. When dem begin chase am with 2x2, dey shout thief una go calm down. 2 Likes |

Daboomb:you wen get knowledge, beg your government to provide a constant power supply....... Ask the guy for his address and go and sell your inverter idea to him..... I live in an apartment where all 16 tenants in the yard have generators...... If you feel you can't cope, pack out... Don't expect other people to live in discomfort because they have a neighbor..... Do u know if the man have kids who are not cool with heat? Do u know if he has food items that needs regular power to keep fresh? Na only your own you sabi.... Oga as far as he can afford it, he should use his gen.... If e too pain anybody, beg government to provide a stable electricity or move to vgc or banana island where u have less generators and noise..... It's simple..... Nobody will inconvenience themselves and families because of anyone 1 Like |

Contrary to what everyone thinks, you do have the right to peaceful sleep while he also has the right to run a generator. So, - you can first talk to said neighbour and let them know the generator is the cause of a major disturbance to you. There are options like getting a noise inhibiting enclosure, relocating the generator, amongst others. - if the first option fails, reach out to the LASEPA ( Lagos state environmental protection agency) with complaints. It will take a while, but they will look into the issue, probably first warn the neighbour to take one of the options I listed above and if the complaints continue, sanctions will be placed on them. Again, it will take a while. erubati: |

Yankee101: That is a "sample of the mentality" of most Nigerians! Most of them are wicked, destructive, unreasonable and Low I.Q lots. The first thing that crosses their mind is how to spoil what belongs to others, the same thing they can afford! You can see it from the way they drive on the road, always trying to use one ramshackle contraption to dent a neat, expensive ride. 1 Like |

You are disturbing yourself by focusing on the generator. If you let things be you will adapt and your brain cancel out the generator sound. Same as people from village that come to live in the city ... they hear every car and okada that pass by.... every siren ... all the car horns. Do these sounds ever disturb city people from sleeping? They don't. But should the city person go to the village....they hear every frog ... every bird ... and even the quietness disturb them from sleeping. Do these disturb the village people from sleeping? They don't. In time you will cancel out the generator sound. 5 Likes |

Report to LASEPA. The M.D. is a woman called Fashawe. She will take up the issue. Nobody has a right to inconvenience others with their comfort, albeit noise. 4 Likes |

Since you have adjusted your mental being to perceive that very sound as disturbance, I can't advise you much. There are people that can sleep comfortably with such mono rhythmical sound, that is, the sound is just constant. But such people may not be able to sleep with a dogs bark that is irregular, that is the sound comes & goes repeatedly. And such sound are often not good for BP patients. But since you have been used to a calm & quiet environment. This must be a disturbance to you. It might take time to adjust. In your other post, you said you needed a cheap room self-contained apartment at Aguda, Mushin. I don't know about the availability of electricity there. But location matters too. |

generalwo: Take it easy, l can understand your " Poverty mentality". If only you will apply half of the energy you expend on all this gra gra and selfishness, you will realise that Life could actually be better for you. "Birds of a feather, flock together",... living in the midst of carbon Monoxide from 16 Generators may have had a negative effect on your faculties so, it is understandable you react this way. You see, l dont sell Inverters and to be honest, l got the knowledge for free and will never sell it to anyone, that will be ungodly. You can use an Old, unused UPS, as an Inverter, all you need is one or more battery and a Charger! It will power your Fans throughout the night and one or two bulbs, irrespective of the number of children you have. And more importantly, ANYONE who can afford to put a generator on, ALL NIGHT, can afford this cheapsake Inverter, that means YOU can afford it. It has nothing to do with Govt or Banana Island. Like l said, People Perish for lack of Knowledge. The day you "calm the-Bleep-down and ask how to go about this and when you actually install it, you will thank me for drawing your attention to it. It is easier than you think Trust me on that. BTW: One of the yardsticks of a developed and sensible people, is their ability to put the interest of their Neighbours first. If Nigerian Politicians and Dictator are not like you, you wont be sleeping inside toxic fumes from 16 Generators! 10 Likes |

If you're so wealthy, rent a new apartment for the poster in areas where they don't use generators or better still, use your money buy ups for the man... Until then, go piss make u go sleep..... 2 Likes |

Lol. This is why lagosians are driving and walking around tense, angry and ready to blow at the slightest pinch. These sounds are loud and will disrupt your sleep. This will make for all forms of sickness, crankiness, poor judgement amongst other things. Don't allow the abnormal to be normal. Originalsly: 1 Like |

litaninja: Can you imagine! Not just Lagosians, but Nigerians in general, are adapting to all sorts of abnormality. People are trying to adapt to what is dangerous for their own health and take it as "Normal". Apart from the Noise, what about the obnoxious fumes coming out of the generators? You see why diseases like Cancer are increasing exponentially, among Nigerians 1 Like |
