Average Number Of Blocks For A 4 Bedroom Bungalow by Dereformer(m): 11:27am On May 18, 2011
I want to start developing my one plot of land by November this year.

I am a novice in building matters and as such will require assistance in the form of providing answers to the following questions:

1) Can a plot of land contain 4 bedroom bungalow?

2) what is the average number of blocks required for a 4 bedroom bungalow?

3) What is the standard measure for a plot of land?

I need these answers to assist me in my preplanning.

I will appreciate good responses.

although u didnt state you location of choice for this project,

I think the size of a plot of land differs from location to location, in Lagos for example, its different from many other locations, they say a Plot is 60ft by 120ft, whereas elsewhere they say a standard plot is 100ft by 100ft,

All these also depends on the size of ur bungalow, if its the average room sizes of 16 x 12, Master 15 x 13 Living room 22 X 20, etc , it would be able to sit on a 60ft by 50ft comfortably

Nos of blocks should be approximately 4000, good luck,

Yes a plot of land will contain 4 bedroom bungalow perfectly.Standard plot of land should be 60 ft x 120 ft (18.288 m X 36.576 m).You will need about 4,000 blocks.

You can calculate the approximate number of blocks you will need to complete your project from the plan your architect gave you.
Formular
B = P/460 X R
Where B = quantity of blocks
P= perimeter of walls in mm
R = number of rows which is usually 12 rows(Taking for a general or average purpose, the blocks from foundation to dpc(german or oversite concrete) is 4 coaches/levels. From dpc to the base of window another 4 coaches, from window to linte level 5 coaches, after lintel to roofing 2 coaches)
The lenght of a block is 0.45m or 450mm or 18″
The width of thickness varies -150mm or 6″ and 225mm or 9″ which are most common.
