You seem to have a different issue @ hand. Did you say your device accepts different sim cards? Have you used this device in question to receive calls? When did you buy this device? Does the device also prompt you to enter 'blackberry' in the space provided?

my method is to add code is
options - advance options - sim card than i press and hold alt key and than write mep2 than a screen display to add code when i add code and press enter button it display error message.

i also try with to do connection off and with on option (manage connection - restore connection off or restore connection on) for all services
