Funny that your wrote " don't be lazy" as your quote. Mehn, your are the one lazy . Very lazy.

Some bank contract staffs earn as low as 40 to 60k monthly. Baba left to sell bread which makes him earn more than 100k monthly. Now tell me, is he wise or foolish?
Seems you are still young to understand. You think k he wouldn't go large scale when the opportunity arises?

Isn't it same Nigerians that will go watch dead bodies abroad?

Wont bother to read. The only reason is that you have looted the said bank then you resigned before discovery. Why don't you start with bread Hawking. I also had HND and still looking for Job even for secondary SCH or bank as a file career.

Any hustle, as long as it is legit and lucrative is fine. From there he'll save up and build his own bakery.

Those saying he's clueless are the clueless ones because the guy is focused and has great prospects which will materialize in no time while some will still be slaving for the bank that can drop them at anytime without warning.

This was how the Dangotes started. I'm sure some people will have frowned at cement biz back then and called him clueless.

God bless his hustle.

I always smile when I read your posts. Maybe it's the old school thinking me, but it pleases me to see we still have females like you around. Good one.

A Polytechnic graduate in Kaduna, Ali Dahiru, who resigned his job in Zenith Bank and took to selling bread, says his decision has turned out to be a blessing.

Dahiru, a Higher National Diploma holder, who graduated from Kaduna Polytechnic in the field of Cooperative Economic and Management, told the News Agency of Nigeria that he hawked bread on the streets of Kaduna, and was proud of his trade.

”After my graduation, I worked with Zenith Bank as ‘Contract Staff’ for six years, before I resigned to start selling bread.

Narrating how his ‘romance’ with the bread business started, Dahiru said a man that was bringing bread to the bank, arose his interest.

”It was during my annual leave that I decided to talk to a man who sells bread to us in the bank, indicating my interest in the trade.

“I had realised that what he earned in selling bread was more than my monthly earnings at the bank.

”He tried to discourage me on the grounds that as a graduate, bread-selling was not something I should embark on, but I insisted.

”I eventually resigned from the bank and started selling bread on a motorcycle, to the surprise and dismay of some people,” he said.

He said his economic status had risen now, compared with when he was a casual staff at the Zenith Bank, adding that he was now in a position to assist people in need of money.

“I am not ashamed of selling bread as a graduate; those that parade themselves as graduates and do not have a source of income do ask for assistance from me; they should be ashamed, not me.

”I save a minimum of N5,000 daily if my customers did not default in settling my money, but if they do, I save N3000 daily,” he boasted.

According to him, his only challenge is the means of transporting bread to customers, saying the motorbike currently being used, is inadequate.

”I use a motorcycle which cannot carry large quantity of bread to meet up with the demand of my customers; some times I to go to the bakery three to four times, and often time before I finish my supply, the bread at the bakery would have finished,” he said.

While calling on young graduates to embrace legitimate businesses, no matter how little, he admonished the youth to always “cut their coat according to their size.” (NAN)

The mistake you made is realising that blue collar job is better than some white collar job. If you had use that six years you spent in the bank to be selling bread by now you would have been saving more than five thousand.

That was how my mum introduce me to her business after graduation, she open a store for me gave me twenty thousand worth of good, in two years i was able to buy a plot of land, in another two years have been able to develop my land to Dpc level.

The next year she belcon on me that she need to go back to our state of origin after spending more than twenty years to develop her store and having numerous customer. Just one year in her store have been able to take my house to lintel level hoping to roof it by December.

Some of this white collar job are overrated.

I know exactly what this guy is saying, I'm into it too here in Kaduna. The business is very lucrative here in Kaduna,we don't sale bread on the street like normal hawkers do but we go to the bakery and collect them for distribution to our customers that sales them in their shops, people consume bread Kaduna a lot and the market is big and accomodating for everyone.I also started with a bike (Robber robber machine) and today I'm distributing my bread in a Golf wagon I bought through the business.
The business is not stressful and you'll have a hell lot of time to do other things.
For the record, I'm also a graduate but I have dumped my certificate because this business pays.

But he wasn't doing nothing. Is this really better than his former job? He said he realised his friend who was also a bread seller was earning more than him. I just wonder if his friend was doing it in such a small scale too. Didn't he save enough to be a distributor? He worked in the bank for 6 years and could only afford roadside hawking? It's either things are really really bad in that country or he's hiding what really got him out of job.

Very true. Nigeria has so many hidden opportunities in Agriculture, Food Processing, Housing and Accommodation, Schools etc.

People will eat bread and other snacks everyday cool cool cool. People must eat biscuits, drink Zobo, Bigi, Coke, 7UP etc daily.

We need to be innovative with our fruits, grains, vegetables etc. If you make donuts and puff puff and you sell in a public secondary school daily, do you know how much you will make in a year? Hmn.

May God grant us wisdom. Amen.

I am knowledgeable about the Food processing industry in Nigeria, bro. It is a HIDDEN Goldmine that takes close to 2 years to fully navigate and understand. do you know how many bottles of Coke or Bigi drinks are consumed in Nigeria daily? Why are the Indians always establishing biscuit and fruit juice companies in Nigeria? Hmn. Let me stop here. Cheers.

Huge Population can be a BLESSING sometimes.

Read the msg well, pay more attention to sentences; read in-between lines before comment. the guy don't only hawk but distributes with bike, which he said was not enough to carry much. Even if He does hawk; its his choice he has become a CEO already rather than working as a contract staff whose end is not palatable except Divinely helped. Some white-cola jobs don't worth doing as graduate, such one will just end up helping other CEO to carry-up and fulfill their big-dreams. such people are indebted to payday loan........ and other loan agents and indvidual good Samaritans
