Peter Obi, former Governor of Anambra State, has called on the Federal Government of Nigeria to invest the funds being borrowed into profitable ventures to enhance the country’s socio-economic development.

Obi made the call on Thursday while speaking with journalists shortly after his courtesy visit to Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State in Ibadan.

NAN reports that Obi, who is the Pro-Chancellor of Dominican University Ibadan, led top management of the institution on the courtesy visit.

He said that debt was not bad when rightly applied and used for investment that would improve the economy.

According to him, borrowing for consumption is bad. Daily Prayers

The former governor said that the economy would have been doing better if funds borrowed had been invested and rightly spent.

Obi, a Vice Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP in 2019 elections), urged the government to use the funds wisely.
According to him, what develops a nation is education, health and things that can pull people out of poverty.

Obi said that more people would be thrown into poverty if the government failed to invest in those things that would improve the economy.

On the newly signed Petroleum Industry Act by President Muhammadu Buhari, he said the law was needed.

“But, the government would have considered the five per cent being demanded by the host communities.

“We must learn to care for those who are generating resources for us, whether it is petroleum, VAT or other things.

“We should consider supporting communities or areas where we generate the income we are sharing,” he said.

It would be wasted building a non profitable airport in Yobe, a non profitable railway from Daura to Niger republic and searching for non existing oil in the North. It seems the North and northerners wants to get as much as they can out of Nigeria while integrating their economy with that of Niger republic before Nigeria would eventually split.

Obi is a presidential material, but hate will not allow Nigerians because he is Igbo and that's why the country will keep rotating from bad to worsts.

Northerner Muslims have nothing to offer in governance,

The constitution should be amended to barn them from contesting for the position of president.

Middle belt, South west and South East should be allow to rotate the government withing them.

The country is in dire need of one state export, where a state is known for a particular export just like mineral deposits is distributed across Nigeria.

That way focus in all ramifications for that particular export would be tilted to that state alone, massive employment for those whom want to specialize on such export, researches etc..coupled with the fact Nigerian export would triple in Agriculture because we would have created various hubs in various products for exports, channeling factories and manufacturers to specified locations.

Its would increase unity because states would be more productive and dependent on each other because you cant get produce cheaper elsewhere than the hub state itself.

It would create massive employment aswell, because internationally recognized factories would struggling for space in various states of interest.

The Naira would experience massive gains because export would increase asides crude oil.
