BREAKING: MR. CYRIL ISI CONFERRED “2021 DISTINGUISHED LEADERSHIP AWARD”

In recognition of his efforts in the best practices in leadership and his outstanding contribution to the development of vocational and professional skills training that has made positive impact in the lives of youths in Nigeria, Mr. Cyril Isi, the CEO of Onus Communications and Founder Trustee of the Centre for Total Child Development has been awarded the “2021 DISTINGUISHED LEADERSHIP AWARD”

Mr. Cyril Isi, the Director of Training at Onus Training Academy, Onus Vocational Training Institute and Standard Institute of Photography (the training arms of Onus Communications) was conferred the prestigious award by the Centre for Leadership and Good Governance International at it’s Public Lecture and Awards in commemoration of the United Nations World Youth Skills Day 2021 themed “Re-Imagining Youth Skills Post Pandemic” held on Thursday, 15th July, 2021.

The Award was conceptualized to honour, award and thank individuals and organisations for their excellent contributions to skills acquisition and development of young people in the society and their significant contributions to eradication of poverty by equipping young people with relevant skills that will bring about self-reliance and financial independence.

The Public Lecture & Award which had Dr. Gbola Adetunji (MD/CEO, Odunlakin Specialist Hospital and former Commissioner for Health, Oyo State) as the Chairman, Ambassador Romoke Ayinde (CEO, Kaynon Lee Group of Companies) as the Guest of Honour/Mother of the day, Dr. Kunle Awotiku (MD/CE), Uniplan Integrated Services) as the Guest Speaker, Mr. Toyese Oyebode (King Fm, Ibadan) as the Director of Programmes and other notable personalities on the platform was held at the Event Hall, Bolmor Polytechnic, Ibadan, Nigeria.

The Centre for Total Child Development was also conferred with the 2021 DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD at the event. Other recipients of the award were Mr. Wahab Olakunle Waheed (CEO Microgold Computer College of Technology), Alhaji Ajisafe Saliu Oluwarotimi (Oyo State Commandant, UNRS) and Dr. Oluwabukola Olatunji (Founder: Centre for Human Welfare Initiatives).

ABOUT MR CYRIL ISI

MR CYRIL ISI: Mr. Cyril is a Media Practitioner, Public Speaker, Trainer and Entrepreneur. He is a versatile communicator, youth mentor, child right advocate and human capacity developer. Originally trained as an Accountant, Cyril has a post graduate certificate in Journalism and Media Studies from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye. He is a certified Public Speaker, Trainer and Broadcaster with years of experience and expansive studies in the field of Public Relations and Advertising, Customer Service Management, Project Management, Paralegal, Innovative Education, Communications and more. He writes, speaks and regularly facilitate in training programmes for corporate, academic and religious institutions.

Having worked extensively in various capacities with organisations such as Consulate of Hungary/Nigerian-Hungarian Chamber of Commerce, Babs Adejuwon & Co., Sterling Bank Plc and Niger Insurance Plc as Administrative Manager, Law Office Manager, Customer Service Officer and Financial Risk Adviser, he has been able to impact exceptional problem solving, capacity development, leadership and management skills to his clients. As a Broadcaster, Cyril inspires, informs and educates thousands of people across the globe via his weekly radio talk-shows.

Cyril has been an advocate of vocational and entrepreneurship training as a way of eradicating poverty. He is the founder of Onus Vocational Training Institute, Onus Training Academy and Standard Institute of Photography. Since 2011, these training centres has trained, groomed and mentored hundreds of young people on different vocational and professional skills and a lot of them has gone ahead to established their own businesses while others are working in different organisations. In 2018, he was nominated for the Development in Nigeria Merit Awards (DINMA) in recognition of his contribution to the development of vocational training in Nigeria by the People and Power Communications Ltd, publishers of the People and Power Newspaper, Lagos.

He is passionate about child development and constantly advocate for the right of children and vulnerable ones. He is the Founder Trustee of Centre for Total Child Development, an NGO that engages, empower and equip children to fulfil God’s plan and purpose for their lives. He is the author of “Understanding and Preventing Child Sexual Abuse (A handbook for young people, parents and professionals working with children)”. He is the CEO of Onus Communications, Ibadan
