Kudos to his Excellency, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, Executive Governor of Abia State on his rapid response to evacuate University of Jos (UNIJOS) students of Abia State extraction from crisis.

Following the ongoing killings, plundering and pillaging of lives and properties in Plateau State where several scores had been sent to their early grave, leaving many injured and displaced within University of Jos metropolis and its surroundings, Governor Simon Lanlong of Plateau State has ordered the immediate closure of UNIJOS and placed a down to dusk curfew restricting movement within the school premises. These killings of defenceless Nigerians by mindless terrorists and religious fanatics had totally made Nigeria more or less war torn, shattered and enveloped in the risks of falling into fundamentalist fighters taking over the country if absolute care is not taken by APC led Federal Government to address the ugly trend. Talibans capture of Afghanistan, a hard lesson teacher!

This massacre had continued barely for weeks now and no formidable resistance had been launched against the killers. Southern Kaduna at the moment is a terror oriented zone to live in and operate on day to day basis by innocent citizens of this country due to uncontrolled butchering and kidnapping of helpless students in the area. Kastina and Zamfara are the companion premiers of them all in terms of wanton operations in banditry and other forms of violent crimes.

On daily basis, lives numbering in hindered are lost to reckless killings caused by insecurity across the country. In the midst of all these maladies, Presidency is busy spending tax payers money on convening committee to review 368 grazing reserves in 25 States to favour his kinsmen who had been in the deluge of crisis with farmers in different communities across the country. Most regrettable is that Our gallant security operatives often incur gross havoc and untold hardship leading to loss of their lives in the active discharge of their security duties either due to poor logistics or operational inefficiency caused by lack of federal government commitment to build on crime eradication.

Our thanks goes to Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu who in his prime dedication to service of his people as Abia State governor has swiftly dispatched a rescue and evacuation team under the watch of his Special Assistant on Students Affairs, Mr. Chibuzo Ndom to Jos to evacuate Abia students stranded in UNIJoS following the bloody riot breathing seriously over there. It demonstrates sense of love and stewardship for ones people. It also depicts the governors ardent and passionate commitment to the security of his people above any other thing.

Dr. Ikpeazu, as you go on delivering democratic dividends to Ndi Abia despite all odds, you will continue to be moving from strength to strength.

Finally, we advise that the returning Students be re admitted into their various areas of academic disciplines in Abia State University, Uturu according to their years of curriculum for the completion of their studies. This would help them feel a good sense of belonging and also get their parents have rest of mind on their childrens safety in ancestral soil.
