Good Evening House, I am a first timer here.
Please I need explanation on my application.
Yesterday September 9th, I got BVL, 2hours later I got a correspondence for REFUSAL, and today September 10th, I got a mail that my for current status has been updated , I have been checking my portal since then and I am yet to see any updates.
Please can someone explain what is going on to me?

I submitted May 5th
Did biometrics May 17th
Mehn… It’s been a long wait since then
Was thinking I should do my medicals upfront in order to save time, is it advisable? If yes how do I go about it pls? I really need help, thanks and Good luck to us all.

Thank you very much

But the new LOA has dropped already. It came this afternoon
Thaiy:

Same happened to me, got it this morning, plus I already updated IRCC about it with new LOA. However, I reached my school for an annulment of the new letter and requested for a continuance letter which I will forward to IRCC when I receive it.

Since you have not got the new LOA, reach out to your school, tell them about the new development stop the deferral, begin classes online while you prepare to travel in the coming weeks.

Good evening everyone, please for those that have travelled and are in Canada, Must one be fully vaccinated at least 14 days before your planned date of travel to Canada? I plan to take the second dose of vaccine on Monday, should I wait after 14 days of taking it to arrive?

Yes it is better so you can be exempted from quarantine.

Good evening everyone,

Please I just got a new LOA from my school today.
Should I upload it now?
Or wait till I get my stamped passport back from vfs.

And if I should upload it through webform, how would I know if they have received it?

I will like to know how to go about it.

Sorry about your refusal bro. That update is prolly to change the status of your application from submitted to refused. When you login, you'd see the changes on application status. Hope you have ordered for your gcms notes already. It will end in Praise soon.

Lekiboboe:

Hi,

Universities in Canada don't mention on their page whether they offer Fully-funded scholarships or not, they mostly mention "tuition and financial aid" in a generic man.

His CGPA looks good, but NO BI ONLY CGPA DEY DO AM.

Getting a Fully-funded scholarship in a Canadian university is just like when you want to mine a mineral resources. It can be overwhelming but againt all odds, those who are intentional about getting it do get it.

For your friend to stand a Chance of getting a Fully-funded Graduate opportunity/opportunities in an Optometry Research area

He should have research areas in Optometry (at least 3 to 4 Research Areas) he wants to work on for his masters cos professors who are specialists in those research areas in Canadian universities are the ones he would reach out to via mail (Cold Mail)

Your friend should go through the links, below thoroughly, check each of the Professors Research focus, publications, etc., also check the research lab/groups, once he finds the ones he has a match with in terms of his research interests, he should cold mail (non generic) each of those professors.

University of Waterloo, Ontario

https://uwaterloo.ca/optometry-vision-science/vision-science-graduate-studies/areas-study

https://uwaterloo.ca/optometry-vision-science/research/centres-and-groups

https://uwaterloo.ca/optometry-vision-science/about/people/group/24

https://uwaterloo.ca/optometry-vision-science/people-profiles/category/35

University of Toronto, Ontario

https://www.ophthalmology.utoronto.ca/faculty

Your friend can also do a Google search on Professors with specialty on his research areas e.g

Professor of Cataract Canada

Professor of pediatric vision Canada etc.

But before your friend start cold mailing any of those profs, he needs to seat down , take his time to draft an Academic CV (well-detailed), and get his transcript ready cos those two documents gonna be attached to the series of non-generic cold mails he would be sending to each professors.

Everything your friend need to know about drafting a cold mail to get a potential fully funded graduate opportunities is in the link below. Also find attached an highly recommended Academic CV & Cold template (find attached the document in that same link). Relate the contents in the link below to your research interests, field of study etc.

https://www.nairaland.com/6567181/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/321#103487629

Tell your friend to join this platform so he can ask further questions cos there are Fully-funded Graduate students on this platform, they would be able to give him some based on experience information.

He should also do further research and not limit his research to my post cos google is still his friend wink

Good luck!!!!

Well-detailed information.
First time to receive 4rm u.
Tnx boss; I really appreciate.

Hi all, is port of entry letter needed for visitors visa because I didn't receive the letter of introduction for my kids, only received for my spouse after visa stamp. Also for kids that enter Canada with visitors' visa, will they be issued study permit at the port of entry? thanks

I just got a feedback on my deferral letter. I requested a readmission to fall semester, 2021 which has begun.

My request has been approved, and my deferral letter annulled, a new LOA with continuance for fall semester, 2021 is being worked on, should get it in the coming days.

I will receive lectures online for the time being while I make my travel arrangements.

Waiting till next year September is a long time

Should you get visa approval after deferring your admission, and is not sure of resuming in Winter or Spring. Reach out to your school, explain the new situation you are faced, ask if the deferral can be revoked and your admission reprocessed to fall 2021.

It will end in Gid's praise and your favour.

I also had to do this as I had deferred, my school was understanding and agreed to reverse the deferral, though I had not yet been issued a new LOA sha
