might not be massage oil. Could be anointing oil that the tenant sprayed while praying in the house. I had an experience when i was in Naija. Sprayed in the whole house once and the mark is still on the ceiling uptill now. It's been over 3 years Personal house though

The way we pray in Nigeria ehnnn yet many terrible things are done by our people. I just cannot process the two

Nigeria got 5 main problems, solve this issues & Nigeria would start to grow -:

- Greedy Politicians/Political scene overhaul
- Religion
- Corruption
- Punitive measures, against crimes committed
- Square pegs, for Square holes only

Write them a letter by post and email, with your tenancy agreement to show that there’s no business activity going on at least the best they can do is to reduce the vat from 20% to 5%. Tell them you are disputing the bill, that way you can’t incur any additional charges. Is the council tax business rate as well?

@marylandcakes, @Lexusgs430
Thank you so much for your advice, I dragged the so-called energy supplier to ombudsman as advised.
I stopped calling and started writing!!!...
I received a backdated/updated bill today, reducing my energy bills from over £1,000 to about £200

They were indirectly begging me and facilitated by exit to a domestic supplier, giving an option to be with them till 18th April while placing me on the lowest tariff possible, cheaper than domestic energy suppliers sef, lol.

Thank you again!

Is this how crazy the market has gotten?

Is it even advisable to buy house in this market? Imagine buying high and market crash!

But then, "rent money equals dead money"-Lexusgs430

So which way to go? Buy or continue renting?

Property and house prices are a religion in this country.
I don't see prices falling any time soon.

Even if all present and past political leaders are overhauled, the next set coming would be worse.
Have you seen how most of the money miss roads act? with impunity and no regard.
The most annoying sef are the ones without money, road safety officials, passport officials, airport officials, even petrol attendants with small power!

I'm a believer, so I believe in the power of prayer, but Naija issue ehn, all these you mentioned alone will not solve it same way prayer alone will never solve it.

If you're not selling and you can cover your mortgage, it's definitely best to buy. Property is a long time game. Plus the UK is about to take in more people who have the funds or will be able to access the funds to buy. We bought our very first house just before the epic property crash in 2008. Some places in the north have just climbed out of that crash in the last 2/3 years.
If it's tenanted, the mortgage is covered. If you're living in it, the mortgage is covered. I don't believe renting is dead money (as long as you also own a property whilst renting) but it most certainly does not give you security!

Speaking of property, Old or new build? London or outside London? Will personal loan from say cooperative society to augment deposit affect ones chances of being accepted by mortgage lenders? This uk temporary residency route is not for the faint hearted

Cooperative in 9ja or UK? If from 9ja, you'll most likely have to not declare it. The bank will include all loans in your affordability checks and they do like to see you have some skin in the game hence why even the government schemes require a 5% deposit as a minimum.

As for new or old....it's upto you. If living in it, it doesn't matter. If for investments purposes, then old is better as the numbers tack up better. New usually comes at a premium.

It's definitely cheaper to buy outside London! Where is work? There's commute costs and time as well.
