Mellady: Technically, yes - there's no legal restriction on when you can apply for a mortgage. Realistically, it depends on if you've built a reasonable credit track record, because that's the most important factor lenders will evaluate, alongside your earnings which presumably will be limited being on a student visa. If the dependent earns high pay and you have a substantial deposit as well you can boost the chances. Ultimately though, 6 months is a short time and it's likely that even if you have a high deposit you'll still get offered higher rates and/or a lower loan sum, to mitigate the extra risk the lender is taking with you 3 Likes |

Mellady: In theory you can, but I don't think any lender will give you one, based on your immigration status. |

Good afternoon gurus. A family of five came in December 2021. His wife is a PhD student, and her husband has been doing care jobs for the past six months. They are about to apply for an IHS refund for a family of five. The care home wants to give her husband CoS, which will change his Visa to tier 2. They are worried because of other information from people, and I decided to hear from our experienced brothers and sisters here. 1) If her husband applies for tier 2, will they still get the IHS refund? 2) Is it advisable he continues with the dependant Visa till they get all the refunds? |

Hi my people, I will like to share a testimony to just encourage someone that you can do it. I know copied my question munamoqel about me asking for price difference on automatic car but I believe you should copy this one too so that people can see that some of us are still getting it right. Thanks to @lexusgs430 for the talk about house rent pay is mortgage money. @ticha, thank you for the knowledge shared on mortgage and always ready to dissect my situation. @mamatukwas my sister, thank you I got into the Uk 6month ago and here we are as a house owner in the Uk. It can only be God. Thank you Jesus. @munamoqel, ensure you share this too in 27 Likes 1 Share |

Akorkor: Congratulations...... YOUR equity starts building....... When we talk about buying your own property, it's a worthwhile investment........ Why do you want to keep paying your landlord's mortgage........ Buy your house in the UK, before you start building that house in Nigeria....... Why do you want to remain a tenant in the UK, but a landlord in Nigeria........ 9 Likes 1 Share |
