It is okay to tweak or sugarcoat your name whatever way you want but the truth is that no matter how David Odeyin tries to tweak his name to David Hundeyin, he remains what he is “Ode”. In Yoruba, Ode literarily means stupid.

While it’s okay for one to exude stupidity, it is unacceptable for stupid people to push their ignorance into our faces. His comparison of Friedrich Wilhelm Waldemar Fromm with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo does not only show how ignorant the mind of this young man works, it also shows that he has absolutely no sense of history.

A researcher would have dug beyond a one-page Wikipedia report, but that is a task too much for Odeyin, who relies on easy to glean information to write the garbage that he celebrated on his Twitter page.

First, Fromm was Commander in Chief of the Replacement Army (Ersatzheer), in charge of training and personnel replacement for combat divisions of the German Army, a position he occupied for most of the war, so therefore he was not the deputy to Adolf Hitler, rather it was Rudolf Walter Richard Hess, according to history.

Then to the basics of his comparison, he claims that the Nigerian Vice President has refused or failed to take a stance on issues of national concern. This is easily another claim of a lazy journalist with a warped mind.

He did not only accuse the VP of not taking a stance, he also said the VP will end the way Fromm ended which is by firing squad. What kind of human being will wish someone who is more than old to be his father dead?

Away from his shenanigans and diabolic utterances, let us just swiftly look at some of the national issues and how the Vice President has reacted. Let us start from Twitter, which he mentioned. There are evidences – news links – that shows where the VP spoke against banning or suspending social media platforms. There are many more where he has spoken about the rule of law, condemned police officers for harassing citizens, etc.

While I do not hold brief for the Vice President, I also do not think that we should continue in ignorance. No right thinking person will be happy with the way things are in Nigeria and every Nigerian has a right to blame those in government.

But to heap lies upon lies on the one man who tries to make things right for all citizens shows how imbecilic Odeyin is. Would you rather have a government were everyone is doing all the wrong things? As Acting President, Osinbajo managed Nigeria and changed its fortunes within weeks and this is a pointer to the capacity of the man.

If Odeyin thinks that his clearly delusional article is the way to contribute to the growth and development of Nigeria, then he should think again. Spewing ignorance is a reason why bloggers like Odeyin need to get some real journalistic training.

Back to the Fromm comparison, how does the coup plot against Hitler form a healthy comparison to what we have in Nigeria today? Is he suggesting that some people are trying to plot a coup against Buhari and that Osinbajo should side with them?

Nigeria is not where it should be but we need to work at it. Healthy criticism is very important and we as Nigerians should put the blame where it should be.
