Following the club's official statement that Cristiano Ronaldo will be re-signed, former Manchester United full-back Patrice Evra has revealed what appears to be a WhatsApp chat between him and the Portuguese superstar.

Evra, now retired, was a former teammate of Ronaldo's at Old Trafford, where they won a slew of trophies, including the Champions League in 2008.

However, with the Frenchman no longer playing and Ronaldo still going strong, fans have been given a peek into what the pair discussed earlier on Friday.

With Ronaldo's dramatic transfer saga shocking almost everyone in the footballing world after initial reports suggested he was on his way to join the Red Devils' fierce rivals Manchester City, fans have been left stunned to learn the red half of Manchester have pipped their foes to the superstar's signature.



Evra took to Twitter to share a screenshot that purports to show Ronaldo advising his former teammate that he was going to join their old club many hours before it was officially revealed.
