The ability of a defined region of six or seven states to work together in a coordinated manner for a common purpose will immediately simplify an otherwise burdensome process by releasing the resources - human as well as material - for the urgent work in hand. That this has already started happening is shown by the example of the Igbara-Odo road which links communities in Ekiti and Ondo states. Each state simply resurfaced its own side without recourse to a Memorandum of Understanding drawn up by each state's Ministry of Works with all the bureaucracy entailed, not the least of which are the kickbacks without which nothing can happen. This was exactly the kind of cooperation which signally failed to happen between Lagos and Ogun states in the dispensation now drawing to a close, with the result that Lagos was unable to utilise land in its 'sister' state to help house its ever-expanding population.

In as much as I did not like that fact that Tinubu did not support Buhari, I know he was looking out for the interest of the SW, I hope and desperately pray that the ACN governors will develop the region.

Why do you think I spammed the forum talking about "interdependent cooperation"? The PDP , for far too long, used deleterious divide and conquer principles to ensure that every region remained underdeveloped while the Party members fed fat. The USA , more or less, confirmed this when they held that the PDP is not a political Party in the real sense of the word because the ruling Party consisted mainly of rapacious individuals who deliberately came together to share the national cake . The SW has seen through the crap. We now understand the importance of having amiably disposed and like minded achievers , with no problem cooperating with others in a mutually benefitial relationship, leading us.

We don't need federal positions because we are not feudalistic or protectionist any longer. Events , without doubt, should now make us understand that we can control our pace of development far better when we work together for the same goals . Our focus should now be very different . It is heartening to see that SW folks and their leaders now see through the deceptive governance fog deliberately created by the PDP so that disarray , enabling some to continue feeding fat, is the order of the day. we dont need the feudalistic distractions of jostling for FG Carrots appointment that simply renders us impotent as long as the FG is not genuinely committed to the reforms required to transform Nigeria.

#1. If it's not a big deal, why bother to show up and type your usual dumb and unnecessary lies?

The only big deal is the fact that you are a lair,

The article below was published a little of a month ago,

Motorists, especially those who ply the Port Harcourt –Owerri Expressway have decried the level of armed robbery attacks on the road.

Motorists, especially those who ply the Port Harcourt –Owerri Expressway have decried the level of armed robbery attacks on the road.

The Port Harcourt-Owerri Expressway, which is presently being dualised by the Federal Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, is the link between most states in the South-South and those in the South-East.

LEADERSHIP gathered that such robbery attacks, which have become a daily occurrence, always take place along the Umuapu- Nkarahia- Umuagwo-Mgbirichi axis of the road, which is in Ohaji/Egbema local government area of Imo State.

A commercial bus driver, Nze Bonny Chukwueke told LEADERSHIP in Port Harcourt that passengers travelling from Port Harcourt to Owerri, the Imo State capital in his vehicle have been robbed within that axis three times in the last four weeks.

Chukwueke narrated how he narrowly escaped from the armed robbers, who blocked the Nkarahia axis of the road in the morning of last Sunday and dispossessed a lot of people of their belongings.

Another victim of the incessant robbery attack on the road, Mrs. Chidinma Onwuegbu told LEADERSHIP that the vehicle she was travelling in was forced to stop near an empty police check-point at Nkarahia junction, where she was robbed of about N200.000.00 meant for the medical bills of her mother, who was lying on a sick bed at the Federal Medical Centre, Owerri.

I don't know why you people lie so much. I know you people have serious low self esteem issues,, but it's not by force to attribute everything you see to yourselves.

Nigeria’s south west attains satisfaction in water provision-UNICEF

May 18th, 2011 in News, SocietyAPA Abuja (Nigeria) The United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF) said on Tuesday in Lagos that South-West Nigeria had attained 50 per cent mark in the provision of safe drinking water.

The Chief of UNICEF, B Field office, Sara Beysolow-Nyanti, said that local and state governments in the zone had shown commitment to the provision of safe drinking water and good sanitation.

"The existing partnership between UNICEF and the governments on the importance of safe drinking water in the communities has highly reduced water-borne diseases,’’ she said. The UNICEF said state governments better handle outbreaks of cholera, diarrhoea and other crises while guinea worm is pretty much non-existent in the south-west at present.

Beysolow-Nyanti said to strengthen partnership with the various levels of government, UNICEF would build systems in communities across the zone for easy access to quality water supply and healthier environment.

The UNICEF official urged other geopolitical zones in the country to emulate the South-West in the areas of providing safe drinking water and good sanitation.
