Please folks, dont seem to get connected to the DSTV/MTN free mobile tv, on my N96, has it been scrapped, i mean if they have started asking for subscription.

No,it hasnt been scrapped, It would still run till July 2011 i think. Try resetting and purchasing again.

@ amasha, so sori 4 my slip, tried resetting, 4rm Settings > system status, closed the dialog & opened it again when I observed the signal strenght was low, yet d channels wouldn't come up, is thr smthn u think I hvnt done right, , @Konezy, I stay in PHC & I blv u can receive ur mobile TV channels (as far as ur device is compartible) anywhr MTN's signal or netwrk is strong enough , notably in cities like PHC, Lagos, Aba , Benin etc.

You can try this:

1.Check that the phone can connect to the Internet also check the accesspoint that is been used to connect to the interent,either MTN Wap,MTN Gprs or MTN Access.

2.Go to the DSTV Settings and then set the parental contrrol to 18years,if you're asked for a code and you dont have a code for your phone put 12345.

3.The accesspoint used for purchasing should be the same used to purchase the rights,thats why you have to check the accesspoint to be sure of the one that actually connects the phone to the internet.

4.Do the whole subscribing thing again.

Also check your software version. If the phone's software is lower than 30.**** then you might need to do an upgrade.

It should work.
