Always password your SIM. It's very important.
For GTB users dial *737*51*74# from any phone to block any form of debit from your account in emergency situations.

Agreed, but you were not told about a certain “supervisor”.

If you are not able to provide you three most called numbers, then you’d be required to visit the office. This in itself is an added security measure and just to confirm that the rightful owner made the request.

What's now the essence of all other questions they be been asking
They asked of my address I get it correctly my address I get correctly my date of birth I get correctly I get correctly the amount of my last recharged card

Sir, you're not totally correct.

'*966* /911#'' is the short code for Zenith bank.
It isn't applicable to other Bank users.

Just like First bank, *894* 911# can only be applicable to her customers.

In other words, contact your bank to find out their emergency short code for disabling or deactivating DEBITS, should Incase such events arises

Facts:
The eatery did not have a guard on duty that day. The pharmary beside the eatery had a guard. From the CCTV replay, the first criminal signalled the pharmacy guard “calm down”, before they entered the resturant.

My sister did not write her PIN anywhere or on any things or revealed it to anyone. Her phone had a face-recognition lock, a finger print lock, a code lock. How they managed to access her phone is still a mystery.

GTB salary loan hmmm, that one weak me sef. I don't understand but my cousin told her that it takes less than 5mins to be granted.

The theives cashed the monies at POS points in Orile, Apapa locations etc.

In fact, there are things that are still mystery to us.
What is the mystery here? Several times it has been said on this forum that you must have sim lock on your sim cards.
This means if your phone is stolen and the sim is removed and put in another phone, the Sim will not work.
Your sister's sim was placed in another phone.

Lol it's normal now. Nothing strange about it.

Some situations where one may not work you can easily choose another method. eg at night or in the dark, face unlock might not work, you can use fingerprint or PIN. I've been using all three for years, same as everyone I know whose device supports it.
well different strokes for different folks. I don't lock my phone at all. It's always like an open book. No secret pages

Please and please, face lock is not a security. I have a big head. My girlfriend with a small head opened my phone. I stopped face lock instantly

The world we live in now.. it is easy to crack/hack codes and stuff

Plus.. this criminals work hand in hand with bank officials.. some are even former bank staffs..

You have a footage that has captured the face of a criminal but the police can't use that picture to run a face recognition..

Worst come to worst.. they print the picture and put on their social media handle, telling the public to find the criminal..

Damn..

Totally untrue. Please get educated.

Pardon my ignorance but 500k salary loan without no form of proper verification or no any sort of " please visit our nearest branch for more documentation purpose" . That's lame! Maybe anything btw 1k- 200k would fly freely but 500k?!! That means GTB is not wise at all!! What if the person applying for the loan has already been laid off from work or a theft case just like the OP.

I was having an argument with one of my guy the other when he said he knew someone that collected 1m naira loan from all dis loan apps and I said No way! Which app will give you 1m naira loan just like that? We all know all dis loan sharks are desperate to make money and most of them are built with crazy interest rate so before you attain that level where you will be offer 1m naira loan that means you have been seriously ripped off and again which app gives 1m naira for personal loan??!

I don't think they ask for verification for salary account , they send messages to peeps with salary account to apply for as much as 5M, you won't need to get to the bank I think, it seems the salary account is the collateral.

Why did GTbank approve a loan so easily? Man, this is crazy. My current account has no access to PIN or whatsoever.

I am seeing three loopholes banks have refused to block for no reason with this
1. The recharge one's phone number option
2. The salary advance or loan option
3. ATM Card and OTP information

Why Nigerian banks have refused to block these loopholes beats me! I am even thinking of maybe deactivating my USSD profiles because of this!

For safety sake you can have an account that does not allow mobile transactions. Let that account keep your large funds and your mobile transaction account keep small money that would be painless in the unlikely loss of a phone.

OP, your story is flawed and I don’t believe it.
I’ll give reasons.

For the loan, to access it, you will need a USSD pin to access the loan. Did your sister give them her USSD pin? If No, they probably they created a PIN.

To create a PIN, they would need to see her ATM Card or know her date of birth.

With GTB, you cannot access a loan until after one week if you created or changed your USSD pin. So how did they apply for 500k?

Secondly, the maximum loanyou can get with USSD is 200k. So did they really collect 500k?

Thirdly, assuming they collected 500k, the maximum you can transfer with USSD in a day is 100k and you said it happened on a Sunday. So maximum amount they could have transferred would have been 200k before she got to the Bank.

So OP, tell us the truth. Did these things happen?
