The Faculty of Business and Communication Studies, The Polytechnic, Ibadan has registered their displeasure and dissatisfaction over the just concluded Student Union Government (SUG) Election claiming that it was a malpractice exercise full of rigging and manipulations.

The Faculty who vent her voice through the Faculty and Business and Communication Studies President, Com. Opoola Ibrahim on Tuesday also petitioned the Dean, Student's Affairs, Dr. Sikiru Ajibola for an electioneering process full of misappropriation of Student information, and gross misconduct.

Opoola in his accusation claimed that Students are not allowed to use their franchise power due to server error, and foot dragging website address.

He added that most students were frastrated to stop voting because the website is not responding and the year of birth requested for vote submission doesn't tally with what they have on their bio data.

The SUG President, Com. Fadare Blessing who also reveal his disappointment claimed he couldn't cast his vote because the portal didn't received his data.

Opoola thereby call on the school management and other concerned authorities to nullify the election due to the gross misconduct by the organizers of the election.

The Faculty of Business and Communication Studies comprising of, Public Administration department, Music Technology, Mass Communication, Office Technology Management, Marketing, Local Government Studies, Business Administration, and Procurement and Supply chain thereby insist that the failure to check into the misconduct would compel her to pull out of the Student Union Government of the institution.

The agent and representative of Student Union Government (SUG) Presidential Candidate from Mass Communication Department, Taiwo Sunday claimed the election is far from being free and fair.

Taiwo Sunday noted that the total number of registered voters is 5,376 and the number of vote casted is 1,736. He added that the fairness of the election is questionable as two third of the registered voters couldn't cast their vote.

He further call on the School management to check into the Electronic voting process as it has drastically failed to perform the aim behind it's innovation. Sunday claimed that the same observations that was made during the last election in 2019 was not attended to and this particular election is worse.
