The best is for all other states governor's to follow suit .. which will encourage all farmer to return to their farmland.

Is it not time we restructure this country or is it until restructuring forces itself on us.

The Lagos Anti-Open Grazing Bill passed second reading at the state House of Assembly on Monday.

The following are six areas of interest, as contained in the document:

1. N50,000 fine per head of cattle for grazing on another person’s land

2. Impounded cattle must be claimed with seven days or owner risks permanent forfeiture

3. Grazing in an enclosed land must be approved by ministry of agriculture

4. 21-year imprisonment for firearm possession

5. Establishment of task force on cattle trespass

6. Opposing seizure of cattle attracts N250,000 fine or six-month imprisonment

Lagos anti-grazing law enforcement would be most efffective. Lagos has financial muscle and human resources to implement it.
Fines and free cow meat would motivate lagos boys to implement it aggressively.

Lagos itself is a country

Lagos is bigger than 80% of countries in Europe both in land mass and population. Its only a place like UAR they won't allow lagos to be independent.

Am urging Lagos in the same vein, support Rivers State government in their bid to control vat collection rather than the FG who are in the habit of robbing Peter to pay Paul

I totally support this law. I trust Lagos Assembly, they will pass it before this month runs out. LASG won't wait till herdsmen start killing their people in rural areas and burning them alive like they are doing in Plateau, because they value the lives of their people.

The only southern governor I was expecting to kick against this anti open grazing bill and VAT collection by state is Sanwolu, yes Lagos State governor. He has been accommodating the menace of these people which I think it is because of the political ambition of his father (godfather). His godfather is trying to clear more ground for himself by asking Sanwolu to tolerate all the act on intolerable.
The question is this, what happen to his godfather ambition? Hope he is stable? God will silence all the enemies of this country

We don't want Afghanistan in Nigeria.

Believe me, more laws will follow soon.

I disliked kanu before but men after listening to some broadcast I was like men his knowledge is deep.

He did make very very valid points...

These laws are totally unacceptable. We the Fulani Talisbans will never accept it.

This is a war against awa livelihood.

The Southerners have no right to stop us from grazing our cows openly and we will shoot because our President is our cowmander in chief grin

With these laws, when enforced, Lagosians will see the fall in price of cow meat.

The South West (AFonjas) are taking this too far, what happens to been your brothers keeper. I can see that this whole bill is directed towards the Fulani's but the South as a whole should note that they are been watched. The Yoruba's want to tow the part of the Igbos and others southern state forgetting the 2023 presidency. The earlier the South realize that all lands belongs to God the better for them and for us all.

Talibandit, you fulani animals must get sense by force. We taught Dan Fodio a lesson and he ran away, you fools will also learn.
2023, you cows MUST handover to the South. If you are foolish enough to even think of trying to be funny. We will cut off the entire North and you will lose everything you benefit from the south.

4. 21-year imprisonment for firearm possession

Even though criminal activities, under the cover of grazing, should be prevented, laws should not be discriminatory.

There are laws already in place against unlawful possession of firearms. If the state House of Assembly wants to pass new laws against being found with arms, such laws should be inclusive of the general population, and not herders only.

Imo state already have a law against open grazing since 2006 but it only restricted grazing in urban areas.

Yet they come online to make useless noise, disturbing people's peace. They think it's by terrorists Igbos and ESN carrying firearms and killing innocent people up and down.

That is why North will remain stagnant despite having all the key positions, Army, Airforce and proposed Naval base in Kano (I still wonder how Kano and Navy go together tho.). When people ditch human values for religious intolerance, extremism and zero regard for rule of law, if you like give them everything, they won't still make a meaning out of it.

They hate truth but love people like Sheikh Gumi, reason they dethroned Emir Sanusi who kept speaking against their hypocrisy and retrogressive way of life. Looks like El-rufai is the new wailer from that zone.

Way to go. People can even see that the operation rates of deadly Headsmen have reduced in the south since this step was taken.
