If you study the context, it is clear that The theif in the above passage is not referring to a spirit or to the spiritual entity Satan. That's a lie perpetuated by the thief to hide his identify while the faithful pray aimlessly and helplessly.
MESSIAH was referring to a physical person, the same way He, describing Himself as bringing abundant life, was present physically.

So you can identify the real scriptural physical thief by his actions, whether in government, religion, relationship, business, however he may come... He comes to steal, to kill and destroy. Yes this theif is often filled and moved by the spirit of Satan; he hates truth, righteousness and hates the beloved people of YAH. BUT the MESSIAH is the one who comes bearing truth, power and redemption. HalleluYAH!
