Two wrong cannot make a right. On one hand the brutality of the police is condemnable while the army should have follow due process to resolve the whole issue.

Or could we say that, "BEHOLD THE JUDGEMENT DAY FOR THE POLICE?". If you have ever been manhandled by the police, you will never wish them well. When money exchange hand, police may use an innocent person to replace a murder suspect or condemned criminal. Many are languishing at Kirikiri and other prisons around Nigeria due to misplacement of judgement -

This is a saddened situation I sincerely sympathise with any civilian caught up in this situation. But a point I need to make is I can see everybody attacking the army calling them names please what about the sillygoats called policemen we have in this contry who just toy with peoples life with riffles anyhow

I am so sorry I have no pity for any f u c k i n g policemen killed in this trouble on ground. They called for it and deserved the penalty am so sick, bitter and twisted the way our policemen just open fire like a mad men all the time killing innocent just anyhow.

A case was put to rest yesterday when a police officer was condemned to death by hanging in Benin for the lawlessness extrajudicial mad killing I repeat it again I feel no remorse for any policeman injured or killed in this battle since they refuse to learn to respect human lives then someone need to teach them how to respect human life I did not support the army action but army will not just go to street to kill police officer if they had not be stepped on or been killed by this silly things called policemen.

This was how our gate man was shot in the chest that nearly killed him if not for God intervention  some years ago returning home from work just because of bribe the policeman involved dissappeared, my dad as retired millitary officer has to take up the matter with force before this animal called police show up and was send to a very long time jail. Just pull trigger as if its a toy gun they are carrying. Rubbish!!!!

I'm sorry for the slain cops but sometimes I blame them(NPF) for their unnecessary and avoidable mistakes.
What gave him(the cop) the temerity to even use such threatening words at first, you know Nigeria is still developing and that's why our police see themselves as demigods. All the same,I know the Army as people who don't condone the death of one of their own especially as a result of carelessness from other law enforcement agencies, anyway, what has happened has happened, they should go back to their stations and settle their scores.Again,I express my heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased.May God grant you the fortitude to bear these irreparable losses.

Who knows if these trigger-happy policemen have been cursed by some innocent people who are victims of their stupidity. This is just a repercussion of their evil deeds-killing people because of 20naira and so on. These policemen have been cursed, so don't pity them. I am not in support of the reactions of the soldiers but I think they just fulfiled the saying "what goes around comes around".

The Nigerian Police will never learn! If the soldier killed by the police was a civilian, that would have being the end of the matter. What right has the police to kill innocent and defenceless people? This time the police got it all wrong and it serves them right. My pity goes to the innocent policemen killed in retaliation.

i am reading different versions of this story, what vanguard wrote is different from what the sun newspaper wrote
but the bottom line is that the trigger happy police man was the first to shoot the gun.
Seriously, i really don't care if it's 100 police men that were killed in the process,
my concern is that innocent citizens should not be involved in the fight or injured.
The police men should learn to be diciplined and control their anger, they don't have to shoot at everybody in the slightest provocation.
what they even do to innocent citizens on daily basis is worst than what this soliders have done to them.

To me, the difference between this police men and the real arm robbers is just the uniform they wear to differentiat themselves.

i know a man that is on wheel chair now for the past 7 years because of police men and their greed.
The man was working as a supervisor for a construction company, he was supervising a project for the company in one of the remote communities,
on one of those pay days, he had to carry money to the site to pay the labourer's because back then they was no bank in the area
on his way, he was stopped by police men on the road and was asked what he was carrying in the bag, he explained to them that it was money for the labourers working for his company, rather than the police to ensure that he got there safely, they pretended to escort him but diverted into a bush a shot the man and his driver and took the money and ran away, luckily for the man, some villagers heard the gun shot and came to check what was going on, and saw him and the driver by the bush where the policemen dumped them, the villagers then raised alarm and tried to save them, the driver died but the man survived abd is now permently on wheel chair as his spinal cord was affected in the shooting.
he lost his job and is now constantly a liability to his family, in such a case do you think the man or even his family would ever be happy to associate with the NPF

THANK U! MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY! THE CURSES OF PEOPLE- THE DEAD (B4 THEY DIE, THE BEREAVED, THE INJURED, THE MAIMED WILL CONTINUE TO FOLLOW THE POLICE DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY. I SUPPORT THE SOLDIERS 100% LET THEM CONTINUE TO BE THE TOOL OF VENGENCE FOR THE AGGRIEVED!

If recollection of history serves me right, I can recall that the Police Force became the agency it is currently and most despised during the military regimes (starting from the late 70s). The soldiers are benefiting from the morons they created. Bunch of baboons create bunch of monkeys and the 2 sets go erase each other Insha Allah cheesy.
Re: Bloodbath In Lagos: Soldiers Kill Police Dpo, Dco 8 Others by mekaboy(m): 12:42pm On May 25, 2011

THE ARMY IS TO BE BLAMED, IF YOU ARE A SOLDIER, IDENTIFY YOURSELF, DON'T SAY YOU WILL DISARM A POLICE OFFICER BECAUSE YOU ARE A SOLDIER. SECONDLY, THE POLICE HAS THE RIGHT TO SEARCH THE CAR, THIS IS HOW THEY BRING IN BOMBS AND ARMS ILLEGALLY INTO NIGERIA. SO A SOLDIER WILL ESCORT A CAR FULL OF BOMBS INTO NIGERIA AND THE CAR WONT BE SEARCHED. MEN ITS TIME WE ENFORCE JUSTICE AND ORDER IN THIS COUNTRY.

Non-uniformed army personnel threatening to disarm a police man who was genuinely carrying out his legitimate duties was wrong. However, would point blank shooting of an un-armed person whether a security personnel or not a legit thing to do? Did the police counter force with equal force?

I think what really happened is that the police, in their usual trigger happy mode, tried to prove a point, namely one with GUN is Majority and the Majority in this instance is always right.

I honestly have no qualms about how many of them get killed, i prefer to deal with a military man anyday than the police. The police is daft, lazy and always brazenly displaying arrant ignorance hiding under the powers of the gun bought with my tax money. I was so over-joyed the last time the military burnt their barracks at Ojuelegba and chased all of them into hiding.

If the person shot was a 'bloody civillian', nothing would have happened, they would have branded him a robber, televised his corpse and acknowledged the bravery of 'our men' at the border posts. I encourage the military to progress with the onslaught. For once i believe in the law of moses, 'tit for tat'.
