COVID-19: FG Relaxes Restriction On Foreign Travellers by dre11(m): 7:10pm On Sep 12, 2021
The Federal Government has relaxed the restriction on foreign travellers without evidence of payment for their COVID-19 PCR test.

In a memo by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, foreign airlines were asked to board passengers without evidence of payment for day seven COVID-19 PCR test or generate paid QR code/permit to fly.

The memo dated September 11, 2021, and issued by Director-General of NCAA, Musa Nuhu, was titled “Permission for airlines to board passengers travelling to Nigeria who are unable to show evidence of payment for day seven COVID-19 PCR test or generate paid QR code/permit to fly”.

Nuhu said the decision was taken in view of the challenges some travellers to Nigeria are experiencing while trying to fill their Health and Travel history into Nigeria’s International Travel portal.

Earlier, foreign travellers were required to show proof of payment for their COVID-19 PCR test before they were boarded.

He, however, said such passengers would be required to make payment for the repeat day-7 COVID-19 PCR test at their destination airport in Nigeria.

Despite many laboratories, COVID-19 testing, variants screening low in Nigeria –Physicians
The memo read, “The Presidential Steering Committee on COVID-19 has been made aware of challenges some travelers are experiencing while trying to fill their Health and travel history into the Nigeria International Travel Portal.

“Airlines are thereby permitted to board any traveller to Nigeria who is unable to either pay for the repeat Day Seven COVID-19 PCR test or generate the paid QR code/ permit to fly.

“Such passengers will be required to make payment for the repeat Day Seven COVID-19 PCR test at their destination airport in Nigeria.

“Holders of Diplomatic passports and Children aged 10 years and below who are unable to complete NITP are to be allowed to board the flight.

“Their health declaration and travel history will be captured by the Port Health Services (PHS) at the destination airport.

“Airlines are to bring this information to the knowledge of the passenger and ensure strict compliance with above-stated conditions.”

shocked

What I deduce is that the FG is offering preferential treatment to diplomatic passport holders obviously in the hope that the same gesture will be reciprocated to Nigerian diplomatic passport holders.

Where did the common man go wrong?

Sneers!

The last time I was in Nigeria, I paid the damn money and had my sample collected. I never saw the result. Called the useless lab and they kept telling me to wait for my result. I have been waiting for close to 10 months now.

It's all about the money. Nobody cares!

If there is a next time for me, I will just pay the money and forget about the test.

The lab guy nearly found crude oil from drilling my nostrils with his swab lipsrsealed lipsrsealed

Why is this government not taking evidence of vaccination as proof for Covid-19 status?

Why should i still pay for PRC test after being fully vaccinated?

Have they not made enough money from travellers?

Didn't u hear that vaccination doesn't mean u can't still get the virus??
When we told u that the vaccine was just a strategy to keep the economy of the world running .. u people said na propaganda...

Since I was a kid ..we have been taking vaccine..from polio to meningitis and other viruses..this is the first time vaccine makers including nations are saying they are not liable for whatevs outcomes and u can still get the virus you are receiving vaccination against..yet they are forcing people

You've just opened another avenue for embezzlement!!!

Why not fix the portal You want travellers to come and pay for test at the arrival airport in Nigeria Where port authorities will just collect half of that money and pocket same

They even changed the definition of vaccination this September to suit their narrative.

Criminal country, that was how they collected 102k from me, forced me to do 7 days compulsory quarantine at yaba, after seizing my passport at the airport, Doing test that we didn’t see any result.

This is not good.

They are already milking people of hard earned money at the airport. Why is thus country bent on frustrating humans?

If your web platform has issues, fix it for Heaven’s sake. After a long hectic flight, i have to come and start suffering at the already hectic airport to pay and bribe? Lord knows how much they will charge now. Maybe 200k for covid test.

I saw this coming with the sudden emergence of covid testing centers all over Lagos. So sad. The world has moved on but naija wants to keep millking pple. sad
