As a real Christian alcohol is completely prohibited in my life and I have never taken it. But whatever Association relates with and encompasses the interets of production, distribution and consumption of those beverages are conspicuous by their silence in the face of clear threats to their business. You just wonder why the Kano State government has not been threatened with legal action over these altercations.

It is not far fetched to wonder what will happen if cattle are confiscated and destroyed in states with anti-open grazing laws. After all the Sharia laws that institutionalise Hisbah are in effect state laws and so in the spirit of equity no one should resist or oppose other states that make laws to protect their citizens from commercial exploitation.

Whatever is good for the goose of Hisbah should be good enough for the gander of anti-open grazing. And herders should expect the destruction of their herds as well if caught.
