Football: AIFL Season6 Kicks Off Oct 8, Welcomes New Clubs

The sixth season of Anambra Independent Football League (AIFL) an will kick off on Oct. 8, organisers have said.

AIFL announced the date in a communiqué issued after its general council meeting held on Sept 10.

The League also welcomed three new entrants including Peace FC Awka, FC Harkdove Awka and Hopeland FC Nnewi into its fold.

The communiqué was signed by
Rev. Fr. Obinna Dike, Rev. Fr. Damian Ogwatta, Rev. Fr. Christian Umeojilinnaka and Ikenna Nwokedi, Chairman, Vice Chairman, Match Coordinator and Secretary of AIFL respectively.


The AIFL said the league would feature 14 clubs in the coming season against the previous 10-team league format.

The AIFL also set Sept.30 deadline for all participating clubs to complete their registration formalities, while welcoming new entrants Peace FC Awka, FC Harkdove Awka and Hopeland FC Nnewi into its fold...read more
