NnennaNelly:
"Poverty is why many people are religious and churchy. When these same people relocate abroad and see that their prayer requests are easily met in their new locations, they lose their religiosity. Religion is a reaction to poverty. Faith is a more reliable judge of Godliness. That is why after salvation, Christ taught more about wealth. Because without wealth, your spiritual health is at risk. Poverty alters your perspective. You make enemies out of innocent people. You blame ancestral curses and village people for your poverty, when in fact the problem is your location, which is overpopulated and underfunded. And fear of enemies, rather than love for God drives you to church"

If true, then that mean poverty is a blessing while riches is a curse and a disease.

Maybe that's why Jesus said blessed are the poor but woe unto the rich. Luke 6:20, 24

He also spoke of how hard it was for the rich to enter into kingdom of God, that it's easier for a camel to pass through the eye of the needle than for that to happen. Matthew 19:23, 24

His illustration of the rich man and the beggar man Lazarus also suggested this. Luke 16:19-31

That said, riches is not the problem but the tendency for man to allow it become his master and to control him, but if a man is able to treat riches as the servant that it ought to be, the man should be fine.

Poverty also doesn't guarantee the salvation of the poor, so if poverty doesn't humble a man and make him to live right, he is also doomed as the rich man that makes riches to rule over him.

God bless.
