Stop blaming the release of water from Oyan dam ,blame those developers and govt agencies that allow buildings on the water path - flood plain. Because you see vacant land you did not take into consideration flood factor. When the land is covered with vegetation run off water is less, but you cut the trees ,remove vegetation you increase the the amount of grey water to 95% . Expect more flooding

Face it...
When you put a dumb and dullard in power, that's what you get...
To him, 2023 and Tinubu in london is more paramount to him than his state affairs...

Is a big lie, there is no flood or potopoto or even bad roads in the Sad Waste. Check very well, that place might be Abia State or one of the States in the East. The whole of Sad Waste is like Uk, US and Dubai combined together. This is a slander to our region and we will not take it. We call on the writer to stop associating us with potopoto and flood as we are not aquatic in nature.

So many people this area were fooled during the land purchase by selling during the dry season and the ignorant buyer will not come down from his or her car to greet locals and ask how far with this area with scope how the area be..

I'm currently handling some building projects here and I will tell you it doesn't worth it beautiful homes flooded because most are even built directly on same level with the road .

Pls greet locals around and ask before paying or,
building it saves a client that bought a special swamp around here , pouring filling with the hope of building a duplex he will loose his property or life due to collapse after the water level reduce..

For selfish reasons, these locals won't normally say it. Because, misery loves company, they want another to feel what they've felt. It's only rare to get this sort of information. Same goes for new tenants. Residents wouldn't say the truth about the epileptic light or insecurity in the area.

very detailed and actionable report. Nice one from Punch.
I am aware that NIMET has warned ahead that folks living in such places should relocate for now for their safety. It's sad but thank God they are alive.

This is why people prefer to purchase land during rainy season

That's the best advice. But this area, it's not the rain that's the problem. It's the dam. They need to keep releasing the massive dam water to prevent the dam from collapsing which will be more worse and perhaps catastrophic if the dam does collapse. I've got a property there and another thing I noticed is that almost all the houses there are below the flooding gradient. No proper planning at all when they were building the houses. Ideal thing to do would be to have taking the level of the "Long Bridge - (Kara bridge)" and fill up the land to that height. Even a renowned real estate manager "Cornerstones" made this blunder with the blocks of bungalows they built almost 12years ago.....little wonders why all the bungalows were empty and no one to buy them.

This what you become after years of hatefulness and malice indoctrination. How did Fulani enter the topic that is clearly about flooding? What does your post have to do with the thread?

Nnamdi cownu knew that many simpletons will be beerfraud citizens at the end of the day that is why he is milking them ceaselessly and tell them all manner of foolery that attracts little push back.
