Today, Wednesday, the 15th of September marked the biggest Campus protest in the history of the University of Benin as Students of the institutions marched out for Day 2 of the protest against the extra N20,000 imposed for late fees payment, Siggy reports.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof Salami Lilian was forced out of her lodge and made to walk to Maingate with thousands of students surrounding and yelling at her.

She finally gave a big speech at Maingate to all the protesting students, shedding tears and calling them "My Children". Long Story short, the added N20,000 fee has been removed, school has been re-opened and light has been restored to the hostels.

Confirmation from owing students have it that the school fees has been reverted to the initial price on their kofa pages.

The students went all out celebrating their success and chanting victory songs.

This can only happen because they are united, imagine if the youths can unite like this to force out failures from the govt, the south will lead the protest but the north will organize counter protest in support of the govt. Nigeria can't be one...

Yes!! This is looking like the Uniben i graduated from many years back. During my time, we paid 3000naira as penalty for late school fees payment which was second semester and school fees was 9700 for Engineering,Medicine, Pharmacy, Sciences. Some faculties even paid 7700 as school fees. You cannot just cheat Uniben students and get away with it. Weldone guys.

She was forced too......The power of a peaceful protest is seen here.....I think the endsars protest has reawakened most Nigerians especially this younger generation on the need to stand up for their rights against their leaders....
