Political Will Key To Improved Production In Nigeria by Dovegrey: 5:04am On Sep 19, 2021 |
The Director-General, National Centre for Technology Management, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, Prof Okechukwu Ukwuoma, has said political will by Nigeria’s leaders, good energy generation and transmission will improve production in the country. Ukwuoma made this know in a statement on Saturday by the Public Relations Officer of the centre, Isaac Oluyi, on the forthcoming 2021 Global Sustainable Technology and Innovation Community Conference with the theme, ‘Shaping a post-pandemic world: Real-life examples of technological solutions for the SDGs,’ to be co-hosted by the institute. He, however, expressed concern over the pathetic level of energy generation and distribution in the country. Ukwuoma said, “One of the problems we have is that the energy generation, transmission, and distribution level is very pathetic. Production of technological equipment, both computers and others, requires a Ukwuoma lot of energy and if we don’t have the energy to produce them, we are merely discussing them. “If there is a political will to say, ‘I want Nigeria to develop some things,’ give motivation, get people to do it, supervise them and give them everything they require, you will see that people will want to make a name and survive.” Source https://punchng.com/political-will-key-to-improved-production-in-nigeria/ |
