cool

Go for KPMG internship and boost your CV to international levels

Last last exposure and connections you can get auditing for diverse clientele and customer base of KPMG can help you permanently in life, unlike your bank marketing job

This should not be up for debate. Working in KPMG gives you a better carrier chance. If you work for 4 years in KPMG, and move to any bank, you would be on the same level with someone that have worked in same bank for more than 10 years. KPMG is carrier boster. And the great thing is a work experience at KPMG counts in any country

Most people poached by banks from KPMG always end up with bigger pay , higher cadre and more authority & responsibility compared to their colleagues who have spent the same number of years in the bank .

KPMG on ur CV will not only take u places in Nigeria but also gives u leverage when u travel out of the country ; KPMG is a global brand.

If after knowing all this u still end up going for the marketing job, it means u are not really serious with ur life

What exactly do you do as a marketer in a bank, that is making this a hard decision for you

I'd suggest you choose to intern at KPMG. Why? Because beyond the one-year duration, you'd have a good opportunity of being absorbed as a permanent staff upon your completion of NYSC especially if you impressed as an intern, but you have to still pass the entry-level test after your internship to proceed. Working at KPMG gives you tremendous leverage to penetrate other sectors especially via the clients you work with.

As a marketer at the bank, you did not tell us which kind of bank so we don't even know the prospects. You'd also have to consider if you have an existing established network that can make you succeed at bank marketing, cos if not you'd be under tremendous pressure after a few months with threat of job loss.

Modified: I just saw that you are already 6 months into the bank marketing job and I assume it's full-time, not contract work. In that case, if you want to be strategic (as you may earn less than your marketing job as a KPMG intern) and you know you can pass GMAT and other test formats well, then go for the internship role.

However, if you are already doing well at your marketing role and is more concerned about your short-term cash inflow plus if you are not too good at job aptitude tests, then maybe you should stick with your marketing job (I am assuming it pays you at least 150k net per month).

Or if it is possible for you to take a one-year (or even six-months) leave of absence at the marketing job without pay, then go for the internship during this period and afterwards decide whether you want to come back.

Try and look at the profile of those who did the internship previously. If they are currently in good companies, then go for it. Otherwise, weigh the prospects of the two jobs.

KPMG without thinking.

Now here's why. I don't know what division in KPMG though but having an internship with them exposes you to plethora of opportunities , network, skills, and most importantly, marketability in the job market.

Please go with KPMG.
