yashau: This is a stale over flogged issue. Like somebody up there said, our governors are lazy and are conniving with greedy individuals. If the FG stops giving federal allocation, more states will have to look at ways to attract money to their states, and collect what is already there. I do however admit that some states are hamstrung by negative effect and activities of FG |

All southern states except Kaduna . Nigerian Breweries Plc has bagged the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service 2020 Highest Taxpayer, Pay-As-You- despite the existence of Sharia Law in the state. Kaduna narrowly made it because of federal character. Kaduna is one of the Northern states that adopted Shari’a Law prohibiting the sale or consumption of alcoholic beverages. Here’s the list of the Top 5 Poorest States in Nigeria; 1. Sokoto State Sokoto state is rated as the poorest state in Nigeria, ranking 81.2% on the poverty level. Its harsh climate conditions have made its a no go area and have prevented foreigners and foreign investors to come for investment in the state. It is also the seat of the Caliphate. 2. Kastina State Located at the deepest part of the northwestern area of Nigeria, Kastina state made it in the list of poorest states in Nigeria because it has fewer or no solid investment or sector that generates revenue for the state. 3. Adamawa State Due to the frequent attack from Boko Haram terrorists, Adamawa state’s economy has crippled as a result of its citizens running away from the state because of safety. It has affected the state poorly to a poverty level of 74.2%. 4. Gombe State Gombe state which is located in the north-eastern part of Nigeria is also facing its own peril in security with a crippled economy to a 73.2% poverty level. 5. Jigawa State A state situated in the north-western part of Nigeria and basically populated with the Hausa/Fulani tribe. With a low literacy level and low economic growth, the poverty level of Jigawa state is at 72.1%. Poverty in the northern regions of the country has been increasing especially in the north-west zone. Almost half of all poor lived in the north-west and the north accounts for 87 percent of all poor in the country . 2 Likes 1 Share |

The question is can these states place it's priority right. In Rivers state for example civil servants haven't seen any promotion throughout the inception of Wike's administration. No employment work force in the state civil service, pensioners are dying of starvation because of non payment of their pension and gratuity. 3 Likes |
