For almost 12 hours now, I’ve been so much frustrated by Facebook.

Exactly what happened?

STTP ( Straight to The Point)… I’ve encountered so much trouble after my previous Facebook business managers, ad accounts and ad assets were restricted (unable to be lifted) and some disabled due to some reasons. Of course, those are inevitable.

If I tell you that you can still get your ad account disabled via mere adding of payment method, would you believe?

I’ve had a long break from setting up Facebook ads and it was yesterday I decided to test a product conversion with it. Trust me, I regretted it, but I learnt a lot (in a hard way though).

As a newbie starting out on Facebook, I don’t want you to commit the same mistakes because you might never know you will make the mistake even if there is caution.

You see, when you are trying to get things done and Facebook keeps frustrating you, you will (un)consciously press some buttons thinking to yourself that you are getting stuffs done.

Let’s move forward:

1. The number one mistake you should avoid is funding your Facebook business account via the “credit or debit card” option or adding a “Payment Method”.

“But how do I fund my account?” The “Local Card” funding option will suffice. Just keep on reading…

What I discovered? My reasons?

I just collected the UBA Visa card. I encountered errors as I was trying to add the payment method (the card). Maybe it was due to Security, but the verification wasn’t successful.

I did it many times that I got so frustrated and removed the payment method. It was added already, but not verified, so I had to remove it. As I was removing it, there was a caution that says “if you remove Visa . xxxx, you’ll need to add a new payment method to run ads”. I didn’t mind and I actually didn’t know the consequences. The fact is, my understanding of English was off at that moment as I was so desperate to get things done.

The verification issue was actually from my card issuer.

But how did I know?

There are two options to make payments. One is the adding of “Payment Method”, the other one is the use of “Local Card” - just for funding alone. These two are different. Local card option is for funding and it will never be displayed as an option under the “payment method” section. If you are into this, I bet you will understand.

So, how did I know?

All my aim is to have money to run ads on my account, so I tried the “Local Card” Option under the “Add fund” section.

### Be aware that there are two options under the “add fund” section, which is the “credit or debit card” (responsible for the payment method). If you use the “credit or debit card” option and it was successful, then it’s successfully verified. No issue with “Payment Method” and that way it is added and your account funded the same time.

Back to the funding with the “Local Card” option. The agency responsible for the local card is PayU and one other agency I can’t remember. Both are the payment processors for Facebook local funding option. I tried adding funds, the same issue occurred - seems the payment couldn’t be processed at that moment and some other times, I couldn’t receive OTP in time. After some while, it was successful.

Funded!!!

Problem never finished o.

Back to the “Payment Method” palava. Due to the verification issue, the dashboard stated my account is “disabled”. Not necessarily disabled as I don’t need to appeal, but all I have to do is add another “ATM card” as a payment method and the issue will be solved. Else, I won’t be able to run ads even though the account is funded already. That’s Facebook for you.

Remember this caution? - “if you remove Visa . xxxx, you’ll need to add a new payment method to run ads”. My intention was funding the account, and I did, but I suffered the consequence of being desperate and not listening to Facebook.

Whenever I tried running ads, upon publishing, it tells me I have to pay the amount due to run ads before I can be able to publish my ads (talk less of other ads review issues that will come haunting later on). “But I never owe You guys are actually the ones owing me cuz I funded the account already and you won’t allow me to run ads in peace!!!” Damn!

I tried funding another Facebook business account, but not “Payment Method” anymore. And not “credit or debit card” option as well. Hell No! The surest option - the “Local Card” option. Even if there is error, I won’t suffer any consequence. All I have to do is just keep trying until success. And I surely did!

At this point, it is obvious the payment method is exactly the problem and I must add another card. That is the only solution. This time, I’m thinking of barter card cuz I don’t want any wahala again, but barter’s rate is damn high. No option.

You should know that every little details matter, I wasn’t paying enough attention. Now I have to hunt for a new ATM card, I don’t have extra.

Conclusion:

What’s important is to get your account funded, no matter what the option.

But…

In order to avoid the same headache I went through, it will be better you stick to the “Local Card” funding option by PayU and the other agency.

I had this funnel setup already for the weekend, but Facebook is tying me down. I could have made enough research but who knows, I never encountered such ATM card error before. My first trial before the account got disabled was successful, so I never saw this coming. I have my card issuer to blame for this.

Lesson learnt.

Don’t make the same mistake. I made it because I was doing it all alone, but you don’t have to do it alone now.

Remember: “Local Card” Funding option all the way.

***

Was that STTP? That’s damn long, sorry!

More updates follows (Mistakes you shouldn’t make)

Peace!

My Facebook ad Account keeps saying your add have been turned off because you have reached your account spending limit.

Number 1, I didn't set any spending limit.
Number 2, there is no option to edit or remove the spending limit.

Pls share suggestions on what to do now. Thanks
