Often times when I hear the narrative that Igbo's are killing themselves, I laughout loud at such narrative as it is just a clever attempt from yoruba muslim media to deceive yoruba people about the reality.
I live in Anambra State, Awkuzu precisely, and as such has witnessed two bloody attacks from the dreaded "unknown gunmen". Anybody from Anambra, plying through the double lane express, will be familiar with the heavy militarization and military activities in that " Awkuzu Junction".
Before the first attack, the whole town has became apprehensive of military operations in the junction; They always appear in bright camouflage often with faces covered in black, some could be seen with something resembling arabic turban slightly folded around their neck suggesting they might be hausa/fulani origine, they patrol every part of the junction, stoping vehicles consistently in that busy Junction hence causing gridluck and hardship to road users.
After hearing much deceptive outburst from nairaland that Igbo's are killing their brother in Nigerian security forces, I became hesitant on unraveling the true identities of this security personnel that may, in any moment, meet their untimely waterloo. I became a secret investigator, each time I want to go to Awka or onitsha, on getting to the checkpoint, I gently cast my eye on their chest in an unsuspecting manner. This I do in shortest possible period as prolonged looking may attract their attention. I must say that these security men are very fierce looking, everyone wrongly assume they were men of Nigerian army because of their military camouflage,but in contrast, I discovered they are naval personnels instead.

On getting to the spot, as either side of the junction could lead to Awka or onitsha, one must stop to await their command. They hardly talk, preferring to command or signal with their weapon which could mean go or stop. Carefully again, I peeped on their badges one after the other, behold, they were our southwest muslim haters with few northerners and this threw me into momentary reflection, "could this be true that this online hate from them has translated to real life."
Two days later, thank chukwuokike Abiama I didn't go out as usual, we started hearing sparodic gunshots from the direction of the checkpoint, people started running helterskelter. " What is happening at the junction? Who is firing the shots? " these questions I want to ask people running away from that direction but they couldn't answer because they want to get to safety first.
Later in the evening, films and footages started coming out, and we saw the dead bodies, it entirely gruesome. To my greatest surprise, a day after the bloody attack another set of haters were stationed in that junction again.
This is the chronicle of first unknown gunmen attack in Awkuzu Junction.
