You should have gone to the bank to rake. Am 99 percent sure the robbers were tipped off by whoever paid you the money in the bank. I have seen a situation like this. As soon as it happened the guy went to the bank to hold the cashier who paid him and made a whole lot of noise. After investigations, she was arrested and is was a culprit

Op you are a thief
No police Station report? Instincts would make you run to a station or find one , even call one .
And the story is preety much that , a first story , no names ,appearances , you know random details , victims usually fix in on their statements ,anything that would lirerilly give a clue will be stated not going to be a brief vauge story statement .

Someone said that to me already but the main issue here is that I dont was ant him to have trust issues towards me because he has already made a lot of promises to me and I dont want him to see this as an excuse... wish there was a way I could just replace his money with even mentioning it to anyone

I understand your situation perfectly. Don't tell him except he is a highly reasonable person that can understand that something like this could genuinely happen to you.Only time you should consider telling him is if you know that he trust you alot and would believe that this happened to you. Work on getting the money to buy that Hisense fridge. He may not send anything to you again if he is not the trusting type. Sorry bro.

Yesterday I went to the bank to get money that my uncle who is staying in the United states sent to me for use in paying for a Hisense deep freezer which I already told him the market price. He sent the money through western union and it was $400 in total.
I was robbed at gun point in a cab on my way to beurue de change to change it to naira.... I have been crying since yesterday, dont even know how to start explaining everything to him. I'm so confused.
Even going to the police is not a viable option because I dont have any reasonable information to give. Please someone should advise me on what to do because my mind is blank at this moment.

There are apps now that can used to pay the Naira equivalent into your account from the US. Naija is a very dangerous place now, you shouldn't even be walking around with $50, they'll sniff it out

They didn't you deposit the money in your account right there at the bank? It safe that way now see how you lose the entire money. Nawa. Report to the police and inform your uncle or what else would you rather we say about it

Working on 15 per hour... Do you know how many hours he might have worked to raise $400?
Don't say what you know nothing about o

That's almost a week work because they don't work long hours a day.

First did you tell anybody that your uncle sent u money?

Second when u went to the western union did u make contact with anybody in the bank or outside the bank after you withdrew the money?

Third after you withdrew the money, did you go straight home or you went straight to the bureau de change?

Fourth how did you dress when u went to withdraw the money? We’re u casually dressed or you badge up?

These questions need answering

You got robbed at gun point and you never deem it fit to rush down to the nearest police station to report the case?

I wouldn't want to say you're responsible for diverting your uncle's money. If truly you got robbed at gun point and you never bothered to report the case immediately at the nearest police station then you got a skeleton right in your cupboard

Not neccesarily about the money in question

Don't mind the guy, he just want to swindle his Uncle of his $400, how come you dey enter cab when you claimed you ride Keke.
AmuEbule:
Well. Your story is not credible at all. Here’s why. First, you were robbed in a taxi during the day at gun point. Are you and the driver the only occupants? Doesn’t the taxi have a license plate? Why didn’t you go the police immediately and even call or communicate with your uncle from there?
I think you should use the money your uncle sent to you to buy the deep freezer or risk him ever trusting you again because you description of what happened doesn’t make any damn sense.

You must go to the police station to report it so they will include it in their incident report!

Why didn't you use your Keke to do running around? That would have at least given you a sense of privacy unless Keke doesn't access the bank area.

Sorry bro. Street is just mean these days.

He may not have told anyone but he probably gave himself away because he was fidgety.

Experienced criminals can tell if you're nervous when carrying a large amount of cash.

I have carried up to $3,000 in my breast pocket before...all you need to do is just act normal and don't be unnecessarily nervous.

Lol, tell him you were robbed, finish. How can you value money over your life, you're very funny. What if you were shot after they took the money and you're currently lying lifeless in a morgue? Instead of being appreciative that you escaped with your life, it is $400 that you want to kill yourself with. Very senseless of you.

You can recover that money if those aboki guys agree to help you. At the point of withdrawing the money, the bank gave you a withdrawal slip to sign. Go and retrieve that slip from them and make a copy. Take it to aboki and plead with them to help circulate those serials within their network and anyone that brings those serials to change to naira would be caught.
