I would say both, if you can't afford both, at least get a tracker installed.

I have read on here how someone said installing a GPS tracker is pointless. And here is my position

Insurance companies know the importance of a car tracker, that is why they install on all vehicles under their coverage. I thought they have the money to pay back? The point is, they want something they can rely on to find the vehicle in case of theft.

Insurance won't just hand you money, they will explore recovery option.

Should you install a car tracker even though you have a comprehensive insurance coverage?

Yes!

I have read some opinions on here, on why trackers are pointless, and just having an insurance coverage is enough. I just smile. The insurance coys, install trackers on your vehicle to assure the vehicles recovery. New flash, they dont give access to the tracker. If they are as wise, why are you not.

For the record, you should insure your vehicle if you can afford it.

Why should you install a tracker even though you have an insurance coverage

* It is your car, you should be able to tell where it is per time. Why? Because you own it!

* When the chips are down, in an event of theft, rather just running to your insurer and relying on people that are just doing their business and have not just had their car stolen, you will have the first go at finding your vehicle with the tracker.

* If the insurance company sees it as important, you should too

* Because the insurance company does not share the tracker details with you

* Trackers are not just for theft, you can monitor your kids, wives, husband, gf's, workers, drivers. Without one, you wont be able to know where they are.

For as low as 25k, you can get a DIY tracker you can install yourself. For 40k, you can get one installed at any of our centres nationwide

I prefer insurance because it seems to me that it is a more reliable option. Perhaps you should look for a good insurance company with favorable conditions and inexpensive services. I advise you to read the freedom national insurance review and I think it will suit you. In general, it is better not to save money on car insurance.

Insurance is great.

I advise you get your car insured, also install a tracker.

If you cannot afford comprehensive insurance, at least install a tracker. Very important
