^^^^unfortunately most nigerian graduates dont agree, everyone is waiting for a blue collar job even though the universities are churning out more graduates than jobs available or being created. @poster i will definitely allow my child/children to practise any of these vocations if they really have a passion for it and the reason is because i know that they wont be queuing up and going from interview to interview |

You guys know successful shoemakers, tailors make more money than most professions. . .If you go to uni to study tailoring its not just learning how to sew but knowing the human body, how it works, what fabrics work etc etc. . . If you pursue that path and know the right people you can become a millionaire. . .The clothes and shoe industry earns billions and billions every year. . .Clothes and shoes are a great part of life. . .Why do you think people spend their entire salary to wear designer clothes. . . There is nothing wrong with it |

Just like hairdressing, many can do hair but you have to know the ins and outs of hair. . .Its not just about braiding and weaving. . .You have to know what hair colour suits someone's skintone, their texture of hair, what hair style with suit their face shape etc etc etc Knowing how to mix colours, knowing how to cut, etc |

i remember while in secondary school. one chinedu in my class drop out of school. before we finished secondary he had already built a house from trading, while our teach was living with his master degree in a rented house. We must introduce entrepreneurship in nigeria. people just assume it is all about book. |

I'm gonna go off Topic a little bit. Hmmm, I went through that Nigerian parent phase!!!!--The you "MUST be a DOCTOR, LAWYER, ENGINEER", phase. Trust me, it wasn't pretty. Thank God we came to a mutual agreement at the end of the day. I'll allow my child(ren) be whatever, he/she wanna be, so far it's an honest job. Mine is just to provide support to the maximum. @ Topic: Sure, why not!? We should all remember that is all occupations/jobs/careers get level! |

Musiwa, : you see, thats when i completely disagree with you. my parents would allow me to study whatever I desire and am passionate about and they will fully support my dreams rather than force me to do something i am not passionate about. what kind of narrow minded parent would even think like that?! oh yeah, most 9ja parents! i guess my parents see life differently than your parents. maybe yours think that being a ¨millionaire¨is your parents dreams and therefore think that it is the dream of everyone out there, while my parent believe that the most important thing in life is BEING HAPPY DOING WHAT YOU LOVE. |
