Last week I went to my villa to check on my old man and my Adigwoloja Mama. On reaching my villa to our home, I met mum complaining how my father summoned village boys to cut down the Ukwa tree that gives her money every Ofor market day.

Honestly, I wasn’t happy with such development or decision from my father because Ukwa food has been my best whenever I reach home to see Mama and others.

But I have to give my fathers’ decision a second thought in order to allow peace to reign.

It was my Mom's favorite. Momsy used to make it a lot when we were younger but I never liked it though. It tastes so bland in my mouth. I used to wonder why she liked it so much.

If she visits oyingbo market, she must buy it.
If we travel to the village, same thing.

It's even the fried one I manage to snack on and that is when I'm extremely hungry.

Anytime I hear "ukwa" it always reminds me of the Nigerian movie, "Evil Men" where ukwa fruit was just killing all of them.

Twice I have eaten it like two spoons I retched them out,I don't just like it.my husband loves it like mad same with my kids.

Maybe because I'm not an igbo person hence my not liking it.it always tastes awkward in my bud.
