The Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy, Mr. Bitrus Bako Nabasu has bagged “Icon of Administrative Prudence of the Year” 2020 award.

This is in recognition of his salient leadership and administrative dexterity in the ministry.

The recognition was accorded to the Permanent Secretary by an anti human trafficking, child labour and sexual exploitation advocacy group, Media Aid For Development Foundation, MADEF at the weekend in Abuja.

Mr. Nabasu was in August this year redeployed from the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources where he also held sway as the Permanent Secretary.

At the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy, he replaced Mr. Festus Yusuf Daudu who retired as perm sec after completing the mandatory 35 years in the Civil Service of the Federation.

Nabasu is reputed to be a loud advocate and promoter of harmonious management-staff relationship in his years of service as a top federal civil servant.

The award ceremony coincided with the premier of the movie 'Enslaved' an advocacy tool by MADEF against harmful cultural practices on women and children, gender-related issues, human trafficking, child labour and exploitation, illegal migration, cross-border crimes, drug abuse and others across the country.

Also awarded at the event are Senate Minority Leader, Senator Enyinnaya Harcourt Abaribe, who was honoured with the “Most-Rated People-friendly Senator of the year" award, the Statistician General of the Federation, Dr. Simon Harry who was awarded the "Strategic Leader of the year".

Others are, the African Executive Director of the ONE CAMPAIGN, an International anti-poverty organisation Mr. Edwin Ikhuoria who bagged the Humanitarian Icon of Societal Transformation of the Year award, Chief Engr. Ben Olisa, an Assistant Director in FERMA who was awarded Icon of Peace and Most Rated Engineer Of The Year, Miss Lydia Ajayi a visually impaired Teacher/Guidance And Counsellor at Foundation Academy Jos who was awarded Youth Personality of the Year, Mrs. Onyinye Ahuchogu, a retired Director from CBN who was awarded Icon of Women Empowerment of the Year, Pharm (Dr) Nwolu Okerewa who was awarded with Most Impactful Pharmacist and Youth Friendly Leader of the Year and the chairman of the event, Mr. Uzonna Nwangwa who bagged Most Impactful Young CEO of the year.
