Nigeria’s southern state of Cross River signed a memorandum of understanding with Essar African Holdings Co. to build a power plant, the Guardian reported, citing the state’s deputy governor, Efiok Cobham.
The 600-megawatt plant will be built in two phases of 300 megawatts each, and work is expected to start within a year, the Lagos-based newspaper said.
