You are still on Nairaland defending Nigeria because petrodollars are still coming. The day the money from crude oil stops coming to Nigeria, you will realize how useless this country is.

To give you an idea, since Nigeria started earning from crude oil, no leader is interested in developing other sectors. Rich countries with huge population like the US and China have multiple streams of income.

However, Nigeria, as big as her population is, depends on only crude oil. Crude oil is just covering our shame and keeping the country now. Wait until its money stops coming as many countries are developing cleaner energy sources and signing climate change treaties. Then, you may just realize that Zimbabwe is by far better than Nigeria.

So, what do we stand to gain from annexing failed and unproductive states except more headache? Btw, Nigeria is a failed state because a failed state is a political body that has disintegrated to a point where basic conditions and responsibilities of a sovereign government no longer function properly
