The Nigerian Army reportedly stormed Tai Solarin University with three armoured tanks and two Hilux vehicles after students staged a protest in reaction to the military extortion and brutalization. The action of the Nigerian military generated widespread reactions from the populace, as many wondered why such an artillery would be used on students. Rinu, an activist who was in the limelight during the endSARS protest, equally condemned the actions of the military.

Engaging in protests is the right of every Nigerian, and the role the army need to play during protest is to prevent the breakdown of law and order by duly arresting anyone who wants to incite violence and vandalism.
