ABUNDANT LIFE VISION.
WHAT WILL BE YOUR GAIN? MT 16:26.

It is worth nothing for you to have the whole world if you yourself are lost. You could never pay enough to buy back your life. EASYREAD

Dear friends, good morning and you are welcome to this morning’s teaching. I pray that we will involve ourselves in beneficial endeavour in Jesus name. today’s teaching is titled “What will be your gain”?Friends, it is important to know that we engage in transactions with benefits on earth. Let us look at it from the angle of a finances, we engage in transactions to make money and take care of ourselves. As we do this, we may engage in some deals that will bring huge profit while some will result in great loss. This is the same thing spiritually. We make decisions that will either give us huge spiritual benefits while some will lead to great loss. It is our duty to make sure that we spend our time and resources in transactions that will be beneficial to our lives. 1Cor 6:12; “You say, I am allowed to do anything—but not everything is good for you. And even though I am allowed to do anything, I must not become a slave to anything.” NLT. As humans, we are free to do whatever we want to do but we must always ask ourselves this question; what do I stand to gain from this? If we cannot give a concrete answer that points at a spiritual benefit, we should move away from it.

We will quickly look at the non-beneficial things people engage in and finish with the only beneficial transaction that can help our lives.

NON-BENEFICIAL TRANSACTIONS.
1. Sexual Immorality: 1Cor 6:18-19
“Run from sexual sin! No other sin so clearly affects the body as this one does. For sexual immorality is a sin against your own body. Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself.” NLT.

Sexual immorality is a sin that God does not want us to engage in. it is so horrible that we don’t just commit the sin, it affects our body as we commit it. Things like pornography, masturbation, fornication, lustful desires, adultery, wild sexual parties and so on are bad things to invest in. in the same vein, we have incest as a bad transaction to invest in. Lev 18:6-20.

2. Idolatry: 1Cor 8:5-6
“There may be so-called gods both in heaven and on earth, and some people actually worship many gods and many lords. But for us, there is one God, the Father, by whom all things were created, and for whom we live. And there is one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things were created, and through whom we live.” NLT.

Engaging in the worship of idols is a fruitless venture for anyone. Idols according to Paul in 1Cor 8:4 are not God as we only have one God. Therefore, it is a waste of time to dedicate one’s life to something that is not God. The energy should instead be dedicated to the one and true God who has given us salvation. 2Cor 6:2; “For God says; At just the right time, I heard you. On the day of salvation, I helped you. Indeed, the “right time” is now. Today is the day of salvation.” NLT.

In addition, other non-beneficial transactions are in Gal 5:19-21. It listed hostility, quarrelling, jealousy, anger, selfishness, envy, drunkenness and dissension. All these do not have any spiritual reward.

BENEFICIAL TRANSACTION.
At this juncture, let us talk about the beneficial transaction God wants us to engage in. God wants us to believe in his son, we are to believe that Jesus died for our sins, he resurrected on the third day and that he is the only way to seeing God in heaven. John 14:6; “Jesus told him. I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father excerpt through me.” NLT.

Believing and maintaining our lives in the narrow path is the best transaction we can engage in. Matthew 7:13-14. This is the only thing that ensures life and peace in eternity. Our scripture says it is worth nothing to have the whole world if you are lost. The implication is that, those who don’t have Christ are lost. Therefore, when everything is over, nothing we have enjoyed outside God will be enough to buy us back to God. Right now, we have time to enjoy the gift of salvation provided to us by God because he expects us to make the decision to come to him and gain eternal life. The question comes out again, what will be your gain after everything? Will you gain life in eternity or regret in the lake of fire?

Therefore, if you are reading this and you are not in the family of God or you have gone out of the family and you are ready to surrender or re-surrender to him, say this prayer after me; Lord Jesus, I confess you as my Lord and saviour today, please save me and be my lord and bring me into your fold. Amen. If you have recited the prayer wholeheartedly, I congratulate you and I welcome you to the family of God. Make sure you join a bible believing church as you start your journey in Christ.
