Finding a standard mini flat or self-con apartment for 200 thousand naira (for example) might be a bit difficult, but finding a room in a shared apartment improves an apartment seeker’s chances a lot better.
The rent cost of an apartment is influenced by a number of factors. This includes; accessibility, building aesthetics, and apartment location, and it can also be affected by demand. For a shared apartment, rent cost is also influenced by the number of bedrooms in the flat.
A limited budget can be frustrating when searching for a new space, however, there are areas that fit perfectly with low-budget apartment seekers and there are areas that do not.

Ago palace way.
Ago is an area with increasing demand, it is sort of popular for its supermarkets, beer bars, and restaurants. Shared apartments listed from here were between the range of 170k for a room in a three-bedroom to 350k per year for a room in a two-bedroom.

Ajah
Ajah is an area that needs no further introduction, it’s known for its close proximity to the island. The cheapest Shared apartment we have had in Ajah cost 250k for a room in a duplex.

Surulere.
This area is large and diverse mixed with middle classes and upper class. Now a flatshare here depends on the location you are looking at. For example, one room in a three-bedroom in Itire cost 250k while a furnished two-bedroom in Bode Thomas cost 600k.


Sangotedo.
Sangotedo is just after Ajah and before Ibeju-Lekki. Strangely, we have never had a listed space here for less than 300k and as high as 400k, although I can safely say that the listed spaces were in very choice areas within Sangotedo. If you are willing to include Awoyaya as part of Sangotedo then we have had a listed space in a three-bed bungalow, for 250k.

Ogba.
Its major relevance is its close proximity to a megacity/ the capital of Lagos state which is Ikeja. Shared apartments here can cost from 150k for a shared self-con to as high as 500k for a two-bedroom without minus extra fees.

Ojodu Berger.
Ojodu is along the outskirts of Lagos, close to Ogun state. We have had a room in a flatshare for 150k.
